Slowed down again.
More hard rejections for perfectly good images accepted elsewhere. No explanation as to why. Not sure it is worthwhile uploading anymore. Too frustrating.
I had a play with Ozone but I found that you can get the same results by combining many free plugins. Like you say, it’s a basic understanding of knowing what you are doing. Just trust your ears and play around until it sounds nice. What I can’t fathom is how some artists here have managed to get their tracks sounding so loud without clipping. I push my limiter but any higher and it clips.
Well adding to my port is diminishing sales. Still dead as a doornail. Who broke the search ?
Too bad the first week of April for me. Much worse than last year at this time.
This certainly is a step back for me. Maybe the search system on to influence my account obviously.
Maybe it’s time to open a non-exclusive account.I hope that things improve.
So we can’t all be wrong. WHAT IS GOING ON ?
Why open a non exclusive account ? I am non exclusive and sales keep tanking.
prestashopthemes saidBut I have experienced this in all genres, especially the ambient genre and they were not corporate sounding tracks.
Some customers are just looking for a corporate track, and as long as it sounds good it doesn’t matter which one. If a track sells within the first 24 hours there’s no way the customer has created a custom project based on that track. They just wanted any track that has the corporate sound. The next day 50 more will be visible and the buyers go for those since they sound very similar. The demand is just “a corporate track that sounds good”. And since hundreds are uploaded each week, the new ones sell, or the top sellers. Every single good corporate track can’t get 1000 sales as there simply aren’t enough buyers for that yet.
I am wondering how the search engine is working here because a lot of SFX or music tracks that have just been accepted have made sales on the same day or just after. Then they seem forgotten which tells me that they are not being found. To sell some on their first day of acceptance proves that buyers want them so to me it looks like they could go on selling if they could be seen. It’s frustrating because I put in all the relevant keywords. Perhaps us non-exclusives get lost under the exclusive pile
A lot of authors make first-day sales and have correct key-wording. There are so many submissions that front-page exposure is short. You wan’t returning buyers? Promote outside AJ, work on branding. Are you worried people can’t find your files? Well, you are definately not making matters better in your profile design and sound collections. As an author who has been here 3-4 years and have over 800 files, I think you could benefit hugely on imrpoving your profile design, using collections, thumbnails and simple html. If I were you, that’s what I’d be working on pronto. Using an identical thumbnail on all files doesn’t help either, at least when it’s not a memorable logo/brandname etc. If someone likes one of your files but needs more similar, how are they going to find it?
Sorry if you didn’t want this advise, but I see you complaining about sales frequently. Let AJ focus on Search Engine and outer matters, while you focus on doing what you can do with your own profile. Which menas helping people find your sounds while making a good impression, and keep up submitting quality sounds.
Changing your profile is a good idea granted and mine does have room for improvement but to be honest I have no experience in this as well as marketing. What I have read on the forums however from artists is making changes, improvements or whatever to their profile is making no difference to sales. When I first joined here 3 years ago it was great. Sales got better and better but it is only of late it has started to go the other way despite adding more and more files.
So you think that sound I made is worth 39p to me ?
