Hans Zimmer – Gladiator soundtrack, is pretty awesome. That goes for a lot of Zimmer work, fantastic composer (Inception, Dark Knight etc…)
A little old skool, but the Blade Runner soundtrack by Vangelis is pretty special too!
If you add it in the “Reasons” list, the buyer thinks he deserved some customization and support and that can make him change his rating.
If he comes to rate and is still not decided and sees “Customization help” in the options list and, previously, he had a customization question, he’ll think customization is actually included and since he didn’t receive any help, he’ll probably rate it poor.
If it’s not required, then remove it at all from the reasons list. You rate based on what you receive, not on what you CAN receive. And hiding the info from the authors is pointless, they rate our products, not your website, so we’re the ones that should see them at first.
A massive thanks to the TF community, buyers, and other theme authors alike.
The past 12 months have been a great experience, of doing something you thoroughly enjoy.
Here’s to more good times!!
dealing with moron customers is always a pita… there’s always gonna be “that guy” lol… I like the idea of adding a requirement that 1-star or 2-star ratings, they have to at least post a sentence as to why, and that the author can appeal and have that removed, if it’s something stupid like “they didn’t include stock photos with the template”, or “the after effects CS5 project won’t load in my six-year old CS3 software, or “that HTML template won’t install in WP” or… you get the idea..
and from a coding standpoint, maybe if they enter a 1- or 2-star rating, before letting them officially enter it, have the envato form submitter popup a window saying “are you sure? did you check the Requirements carefully prior to purchase?”or similar “noob alert” lol
All sorts of strange ways. Most of the time you just see a glimpse of a word an go with that. Me, personally, I had a theme called Hanna, named after my daughter, where the theme was used by a singer in the UK called Kate Nash, hence the name of one of my themes being called Nash. And Kula, because I liked Adobe Kuler, and did a slight tweak of that name!!
1 & 2 stars, I think are always pretty much the same reasonings -
- Don’t know WordPress, first time noobs
- You did not answer their support request at a weekend
- You do not answer their support request within 2 hours
- You helped out for days on end, but then said you could offer no further help
- They just did not read the frickin documentation
All grossly unfair reasons to be getting hit with 1 & 2 stars, so as mentioned above more work needed on this area.
