Wow! I love these videos. I will send some people your way to check out what you do. I have a number of friends that are just getting started that are interested in learning about workflow. They would be interested in watching these.
The music you make is awesome by the way! Thanks for sharing.
It’s been a while since I’ve been in the forums. I just wanted to say hello and that I am making my way back into the music production world. I have taken a hiatus and have been extremely busy at work. But I was bit by the creative bug when I made an upgrade to my home studio by purchasing NI’s Komplete Kontrol S61 keyboard. This controller really helps with navigating Komplete 10’s insanely large library of instruments and sounds. In addition to cutting down all of that time that I used to waste looking for sounds, it really brings live instrument playing back to creating music on the computer.
I also finally learned how to use my Maschine controller. I have had the darn thing for well over a year and hadn’t really used it for anything until now. What is really cool is being able to use both of the controllers (Maschine and Kontrol S61) while creating and also using them to control Ableton Live. It was a bit tricky at first because I had to learn that when using both controllers in my current set up, the S61 keyboard is acting as the master for controlling Ableton. I couldn’t use the Maschine controller to start recording in Ableton because I was operating Maschine software in my project. When doing this, the Maschine controller controls the Maschine software.
Anyway, the real point of this post is to discuss workflow solutions. Now that I have spent some time learning to use my controllers, my workflow has really improved.
So to the point. What do you find works for you? What have you found that helps you cut out time with your creative and or productive workflow?
Ha, this may be my first 0 sales month ever. It’s ok though. Sales always pick up again after the holidays. So, Happy Holidays everyone!
Awesome work Gareth! Congrats.
Thank you everyone for all of this nice comments. You gave me some sound advice. That is one of the biggest things I love about this community!
I recently went through a situation here with Envato that I didn’t agree with. I feel that there is a certain amount of improvement that can be made in an area that affects some authors and I am hoping that maybe a little change will come along to make that happen. But I am by no means on bad terms with the company. I just needed a little time to cool off. Envato truly is one of the best sites around for selling royalty free music. I hope that everyone will accept that little bit as an explanation for my considering leaving. I don’t feel that the situation needs to be blown out of proportion, and I feel that Envato is intelligent enough to make the appropriate changes on their own.
But I have decided to stick it out for now. I must admit that I was ready to stop submitting tracks over the situation. But I have decided to hold on to hope that things will change.
Maybe later, when the time is appropriate, I will share my ordeal, as I had a part to play, and something to learn in the process; something that I feel all musicians could learn from.
Anyway, thanks again for the encouraging words.
I just wanted to say Good-Bye to you guys. I will likely be pulling my profile from Audiojungle soon.
I want you to know that I have enjoyed your sense of community and how many of you are willing to lend an ear or a helping hand when needed. That is rare and hard to find. Thank you!
Please keep taking care of each other!

Have you ever listened back to a song you just recorded and thought it sounded pretty complete, but then noticed that the click track was still on, and upon turning it off realized that the song was suddenly missing something? This just happened to me. Not sure what it says about the rest of the song. I guess I’ll need to pull out the old wood block and add one more track
