Just 9 in February.
Same here Mike. Worst month since December 2013! :(
Same here. Worst month since December 2013 ):

I’m having to look all the way back to March 2013 here. Very poor month and if I’m perfectly honest, I’m really not too sure where I stand with things on AJ right now.

Being a non exclusive author here is becoming a real thorn in my side and I’ve been very reluctant to upload new material, on the basis that I don’t feel it’s fairly given the opportunity to shine, as a non exclusive asset.

I tested the water with a separate exclusive account, but hardly caused a ripple. All this is alongside seeing my TuneSat detections currently clocking in at over 25,000+ TV network usages too. I do feel I’m clinging on by a thread and decisions will need to be made.

Also, it’s clear that one longtime, non exclusive behemoth author has almost disappeared without trace from the monthly top selling author and items list after being a mainstay for many years. That’s pretty concerning. Things are changing in a big way, so I guess it’s time to be flexible.

You’re right AJ becoming more and more competitive,,, it’s just a jungle and I’m happy to be non-ex. Seeing what happening in SFX here, when massive ingestion of one user’s sounds against rules (3-4k in one month) I doubt that it’s a place which may be your financial base or support. It’s a sign for all music producers here that in few months AJ may take over or ingest huge music library, which can flood and dominate all their catalogue and searches and for many exclusives it may be the end of stock career.

Usually it happens if you trying to submit too much items at once… kind of prevention of stucking the queue for others I suppose

I don’t know why anyone could see this as good news. I’m an Alchemy & Camel Space user and bought almost all their expansions but I’m on Windows. So how is this good for me? It’s the second time I get punished for trusting a product which then was bought by Apple. In 2002 I just setup my first PC studio with the then new Logic 5 and anything you could get at the time incl. a $7,000.00 custom build PC. 2 month later Apple bought Emagic and I was screwed. No, if anything we should be warned. What else will Apple buy in the future? Nothing is save because they have enough money. Sure if you are an Apple user you don’t care. But just imagine for a moment Microsoft would play the same game and starts buying music software and then only offers it for Windows. Imagine Microsoft would buy Logic (I know almost impossible but you never know) and would make that a Windows product only. Would you still say its “great” news?

Completely agree, probably all future versions of Alchemy will be unavailable for me :(

BTW submitting a sound with variations is very time consuming. Even reviewers have problems with it. One person says that I should list all files and their times in description. Another says that I could fill fields with number of files and their durations. Third one says that this not applies to SFX, but music only… Frankly I don’t waste my time for multiple versions now.

5x seems more realistic for multi-use to me… I mean, based on a $1 sound effect, would a client be prepared to pay $5 (instead of the current $3) for something they can use with ANY future project/client? Yes! After all, most multi-use purchases are going to come from businesses… Then again, I may be completely wrong, but to be honest at this price point I think I may actually be right!! ;)

Comparing to other places it’s not too cheap. Almost all big stock have default multi use license. You buy a CD with SFX and there’s usually unlimited usage license. The problem is not in licensing multiply factor but in pricing SFX. Many complex sound design effects until 0:10 duration time cost rubbish comparing to beeps, dings and clicks. But it’s not easy to invent more fair automatic pricing system. Maybe it would depend on sound cathegory or be set by author or reviewer..

After first days percentage of multi-use licenses is about 5-7%

IMHO some of them sound little distorted, some are too basic (elixir sounds) and some are quite good.

Is it allowed but better do it without ”-”, it is often deleted by reviewers

Taco the truth is that Aj is the most competitive marketplace. If you don’t have the luck like being featured or chosen to popular VH project you stay only with statistical probability of being found and licensed. Although our efforts and productivity our share in total numbers of items is still the same or even decreasing. I think that AJ volume is rising much faster than general buyers quantity and that may be frustrating for many active authors. IMHO stock market is going to concentrate in few places… who knows maybe sometimes it will be monopolized by one big stock… Aj is one of these places and we are pawns in this game.
