Off Topic:
Sometimes I feel like we are totally abandoned here at VH.
No official answer on this topic, (How hard is to say : Sorry guys, we don`t plan to increase the prices.)
No answer on some important overdue updates like player and rollovers.
I’m sure Mark is overloaded of work, but we could (VH authors) start tweet Collis that we are alive@videohive.
Also I think we should lock this tread cause It’s sad this see a bunch of guys/gals asking things, and nobody cares.
As always in those case, Peace and Love.

About the linkage of model here is what Envato says:
Here about the requirements:
Now,from the very beginning of the E3D here at VH, the use of started model pack as never been discussed properly.
My guess is that Envato did not receive a clear answer from VC team.
My personal suggestion is to create your own basic primitives.
This is what I did for my templates.
Good Luck

Thanks ! finally a new rate system!
I still can’t understand what is he mystery in having something like B&H or Amazon, where users explain their rate.
Somebody can explain me why is so difficult ?
BTW Thanks Justinfrench for your effort in the new rate system, and following up the forum.

flashato saidyou cannot see who hard rejected you anymore, but in case of approval and soft rejection you can see your reviewer in item’s history tab.
Sorry but how do you guys knows who is the reviewer ? some times ago they use to put the name under the mail, but now there are kind of anonymous.
Not enough bodyguards out there ?![]()
Oh I see…. Thanks !

Ok but I agree with the overall market prices, maybe they should be increased. to see a pro level logo for 8 dollars…. that a fu*kin cup of coffee!!!!..... at least make it a hamburger? That’s actually my point in general… prices are too low.
There are various mechanisms by which the prices take a steady downwards trend. Inflation is one, the glass price ceiling is another, and inter-author competition is yet another. Competition in itself is no bad thing. In a free market, the idea is that price is self-regulating, but in the modern internet age, we need to look carefully at the many situations where that has gone too far: The music industry, newspapers, and even photography, to name but a few.
On Videohive, our striving to raise the quality bar over the last few years has been fun and fantastic for the buyer, but since it has been met not with a commensurate price rise, but a real-terms price fall; it almost certainly represents a more difficult position for the author, who has to work harder for the same revenue. You’d probably argue that this is evened out through the increased sales volume that lower prices “cause”, but that would be pure assumption. The fact is that we are simply not privvy to that information and have no idea how pricing affects sales volume. Comparing Apple and Amstrad should be proof enough that the relationship is not a simple one.
Envato itself is obviously aware of the problem of over-competitiveness (also known as price-dumping). That’s why people are not allowed to advertise give-aways on the forum, and presumably the reason why prices are set centrally, and that Elite authors are no longer allowed to set their own prices. I guess Envato fears that authors, if left to their own devices, would chase the prices down to zero. I fear they’d be about right. Good for Envato that they don’t want to be a platform for this.
But the fact is that the market here is not a completely free-market. We rely on Envato to set our prices centrally and fairly, and to protect us from price-dumping. Central intervention in otherwise free markets often leads to contradictory situations, and this central price-setting is clearly leading to situations where things don’t quite add up. If the audio track example isn’t clear enough, consider a project that includes 20 3D models (trust me – this is on its way with CS7) and we see how very quickly it starts undermining the pricing on 3DO to quite a radical degree.
I don’t blame you for wanting to make your files more competitive, nor is there any compulsory obligation to the group. But I maintain, that it is only with some level of solidarity that a group exercises any leverage at all.
That’s why I think that including an audio track in a file should be met with a small price rise.
I normally never discuss about prices.
But I will do it now.
IMHO right now VH lead the market of the AE projects
More quality and variety as been asked from VH.
They had it.
In the current AE Project files market I don t think VH will lose buyers for and 2/5 usd increase.
To stay on topic, buyers have a great advantage if they have the sound included.
Peace,
Arthur

VF saidTotally agree. At VideoHive we have the same player technology since Flashden.
flashato saidwhile none of the other departments are improving like this particular section. Just saying.
It s all about money.
(more than 5 years, but it is in the pipeline
).It s looks that efforts and new ideas are direct on departments and promotion where more money can be moved.
It’s all about money.
Peace
