I went through the WPML process hoping to get a copy of the plugin to do local testing. Nope. Ended up sending them a zip of my incomplete theme and they uploaded that into their testing environment (by which time my theme had changed already). They gave me editor permissions and asked me to add some content so they can test it all translates successfully and let me know what to fix.
This all seemed rather pointless so I just purchased a copy of the plugin for local testing. I can now use the plugin on all my demo sites and also have access to their support if I find something that cannot be translated.
Have many people have used WPML? It’s a moster of a system! All those separate plugins and all those features. Phew! I certainly wouldn’t like to be in charge of translating a big website.
Not sure if it’s been asked, but with our live demos do we have to show a couple of translations? I’ve created 3 partial translations of the home page (using google translate), and I hope I don’t have to do any more. lol
organicbee saidThe API will be updated to show whether a buyer is in a valid support period. We definitely won’t forget the API
Will purchase code fail to validate after the 6 month period? Or will you offer some other sort of API to allow authors to check if the buyer has support?
A lot of us cache API results for a while. A support expiry date would be nice to see (rather than just a yes/no valid support period flag). Cheers!
This sounds much better looking forward to seeing it roll out.
What if I opt-out but provide cheaper paid support outside the marketplace? I can do that right?
Yep I’d like clarification on this as well. My understanding is we are not allowed to advertise anything that generates revenue / competes with Envato on our item pages / profiles. So my understanding is we cannot say things like “Visit my website to buy this addon for $2!” or “Visit my website to pay $10 for support!” or even “Check out my website for free downloads”.
I’ve already submitted a commit so it should be available via the dashboard plus settings (maybe clear cache) I’ll ask Dave, maybe he knows better
Should be working now guys! (had to do a gh-pages merge). It should work, but if you don’t see the option try clearing the cache (I didn’t have to clear it here).
Enable it from Settings > Dashboard Plus > Compare Earnings.
Thanks @revaxarts for this great new feature!
