Ok, it’s clear and not problem. I don’t know, the “trend” icon is temporary. But I’m sure, they has been withdrawn because I put it on, not because it is no longer current. (and this could be corrected, if this was a reason) Bye, therealist

I think the trending algorithm is automatic based on various factors,

can staff confirm this?

I have no issues with the original announcement. I already provide lifetime support and have less than a 72 hour response time (in fact, most threads are answered in the first 12 hours). Very few users come back 1 month after purchase, let alone 6 months. With the original plan as announced, the only thing that would change is that I’d be making more money and have less support after 6 months.

Can you explain how you will make more money if nothing change? I mean, you are saying (and is true) that you already provide support and you also answer under 72 hours. So no change here but how you make more money?

Do you will make money by getting paid customizing items for buyers? I’m assuming you already do this but based on the original announcement you will need to pay 30% to envato, something that you are not doing now.

So it looks to me you can’t make more money, actually you will lose 30% of customization fee.

But I’m asking because I’m curios, how you will make more money based on the original announcement?

Doru, check this out!

Thank you Collis! It truly is wonderful to see that Envato acting on this! I do have a question for you!
Is this still due to launch in December? Or will Envato reconsider the time frame to a more suitable moment? (not during holiday season)

Good question! I think everything is on the table for reconsideration.

My general thinking is for us to deliver value around item support before the end of the year, but depending on the data, maybe it’s more features like Author Teams.

And thank you for the offer of data, I think Stew and the team would find that really helpful!

I’m not sure this answer my question. I know the staff took a decision to gather more data and the original thread is not relevant anymore

My question is for designcrumbs, I want to understand how he can make more money based on the original announcement, if off course he can share his reasoning with me. Maybe I’ve missed something along the road.

We know the new designs are not to everyone’s taste, but we also know design is highly subjective and it’s impossible to make something everyone loves.

While maybe there were people who didn’t liked the old badges, I don’t remember a thread with 54 pages of mostly negative feedback about them. That proves a consensus is possible

Again, we know there’s room for improvement, but we are also really proud of what we achieved and love the new look.

first rule of design is to not get in love with your creations and be critical about it. I’m not joking. Is true, this rule exist.

With time, we hope you will too.

will not happen

The question of when is a matter of capacity and priority compared to other projects, however, we now have plenty of data and useful feedback to inform future decisions, which is a wonderful thing :)

Hey everyone, Nat didn’t say this was the end of the project. We’re now closing the survey form and taking some time to read and reflect on your feedback.

We cannot put a date on any tweaks or updates because there’s many other projects in the works that require our attention, but that also doesn’t mean that we’re closing the door on this project.

Thanks.

Badges are here to stay then. Not an answer that I like. :(

An important feateaure that needs good planning. We should wait and see how it will work in details after the gathering data period will end.

Let’s not be absurd, shall we? I wanted to lock the thread a long time ago, but went ahead and answered like another author! Travis locked the tread because keeping this thing centralized will give Collis and other staff members an easier way to respond. Collis usually blockquotes a lot of comments and answers each and everyone of them!

Whilst we were talking about community guidelines, this thread is about support being mandatory, not about staff locking threads and doing their jobs. If you see something wrong with that, please open a support ticket!

And while we are here, Doru, you usually make some AWESOME comments, but sometimes, you just feel the need to rant at staff for every possible reason in this world! Chill out Doru! Think about this! What if everyone will have an open letter to Envato thread and wonder why no one replies. While we are at it, why don’t we just make all the forum topics ” An open letter to Envato ” This goes for you too QBKL. I’m not bashing you guys! I’m merely remarking on this fact as being the best solution to keep things in one place!

Now, please, let’s get back to this discussion as I believe there are far more important things to discuss than locked threads! If you replied to a locked thread, and believe your post was relevant to this conversation, please copy and paste your post here!

Thanks guys!
Please avoid insulting me by comparing my opinions with “rants”.

And “I go around ranting at staff about every possible reason in the world?” What is this?

No need to contact support, there is the owner of Envato on this thread who I strongly believe understands the importance of a community that colaborates with the company.

You lock threads, people get angry. Angry people are less incline to collaborate with staff if they perceive their opinions are censored.

That thread got locked now you have users here quoting +number the same open letter that was sitting by itself in its own thread.

That some way of resolving a problem. Bravo.

@Collis

For quite some time now, the community staff locks threads with many replies “for keeping things centralized” or because an user broke some of the community guidelines.

If two different thread exist is because they represent different arguments. If one user break a rule the post should be removed not lock the entire thread.

Sometime locking threads make sense, we have nothing against those occasions but what is really irritating is locking threads that discuss features or issues of the marketplace and when things get a bit critical.

I’ve made this post to state one reason why the community is a bit nervous when interacting with staff currently

This locking threads.

Quite stupid reason if one thinks about it.

Hey guys. Let’s try and get this thread back on topic. I don’t want to have to lock it. Thanks!

We never use to fight like this when we had our old badges. :(

See what they’re doing to us?

Is badges fault :D
