Perhaps you should tone it down a notch. There’s NOTHING that indicates the dtbaker’s remark is incorrect. Envato has made several official statements in which they indicate that they will handle all VAT related matters.
Do you have any info on HOW they will handle this VAT?
From a recent post we’ve learned that envato gives some additional information if you contact them privately, for example we’ve found out that they are planning to give to buyers author information, and to authors, buyers information.
Did this have anything to do with how the VAT will be handled on envato part? From that private message it implies it does.
So, in more details how this will be handled?
How can one invoice the VAT for entire item price for a customer but at the same time the author provides an invoice for 80% of the item price without VAT?
It’s copy paste from an email we got last week. We were only trying to help a fellow author with info we had already received.
And you did very well. I have no problem with this.
I have a big problem with the fact that envato did not write this information here, where all of us are waiting for various answers.
Did they want ALL authors to contact support and ask 100 questions? It will be a huge headache for support. It make no sense.
This is a reply I got from Envato, when emailed them about the details given on the invoices.
As a service to sellers and buyers the system will generate invoices for the license price. Those invoices will include both Envato’s and the sellers’ details. However the VAT will be charged, collected and remitted by Envato. Seller’s details will include username, name or business name or company name, country and province or city depends on local requirements. More details may be added to comply with different requirements in different places. Sellers VAT number will not be included on the invoice and is only required if they are making purchases on Envato Market. Authors will receive a statement detailing all their revenues and the invoices issued for their sales. They will also receive invoice from Envato for their platform fees.Hope that helps
When did they give you this answer?
Why all this information above is not communicated in a clear way on forum and on the blog?
Because maybe you’ve understood their answer or maybe you are just adding or removing stuff from what they’ve said. Maybe you’ve told us the answer 100% as it was communicated to you, but still it doesn’t matter as we can’t trust someone that spoke with envato and then tells us what envato said, when envato should just provide these answer here for everyone to see.
“Seller’s details will include username, name or business name or company name, country and province or city depends on local requirements. More details may be added to comply with different requirements in different places.”
what more details and what local requirements and what are these local places?
You give me an invoice for taking money from me that I never got in the first place? Are you kidding me? How can you give me an invoice for money that I pay you if I never paid you those money? Author fee? When did I paid you an author fee?
The client paid me 80% of the item price, then I got a percentage out of it and send it to envato and envato give me an invoice for that author fee percentage? When this happened?
If envato want this system, then please send the 80% money from the buyer directly to my bank/payoneer/paypal account then wait for me to give you back the author fee and issue an invoice for this.
Cocomero saidYou are waiting for nothing, they won’t, not until 2015!
I just wonder if Envato is going to officially address our questions finally and before01.01.2015.
last answer from Collis is herehttp://marketblog.envato.com/general/updates-statements-handling-fees-business-model/
There is at least one spammers that for years!!!!, periodically, post the same thread name (with some variations) but always repeating words that we all know about (and don’t want to post here).
Is time to invest a couple of hours of developers time to create a simple filter to block these words as name title, at least for new accounts if not for everyone.
Poor admins and mods surely have enough of deleting these damn threads every day! And all of us are tired of this damn spammer. Just think about the time admins save to do other things (like deleting my posts for example)
Next reunion where envato let the staff to come up with their own projects and ideas a developer should rise his hand and propose this filter.
But for the love of Santa Claus and his eight reindeer, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen, do not use this filter to censorship the forum after we finally clean this place from the aforementioned spammer
it was never about the sales only.
Is a mix between various factors, one being the page views. The details of the algorithm are kept secret
Can someone explain the second part? When I asked Payoneer support this they just said “there is no insurance”.
I’m guessing that is similar with paypal. They have a similar card that have paypal name on top (also mastercard circuit) but is not actually paypal but another company depending of the country you are living in. So this payoneer may have the name payoneer but is not actually payoneer. All works fine and dandy but if the middleman company goes bankrupt and you had 2000$ on the card you probably lost the money.
This is what that text means probably. But who knows
Stars1100 saidCan you give us an example?
Thank you all for your input, I agree with some and disagree with some, I have seen files here that have been rejected and are now on [another site :)] and they are making good sales, so i say its possible that the reviewer may not have always made the right choice to reject.
Forum rules don’t allow linking to similar marketplaces that envato have.
I have a file that had been reject years ago that had sales on a different marketplace
