From Item Title Naming Conventions: https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/203269650
“Your item name and description must accurately describe your item and its elements. They should both provide relevant information that makes it easy for buyers to find items meeting their needs”
“Beautiful File” or “The Best Template” – Do not use subjective words like brilliant, amazing, or best. These words describe your opinion rather than what the file actually is.”
EPIC is a subjective word. As BEST APP PROMO is too…
The thing is cyzer, we are selling templates here. A simple logo reveal can be used as a show intro by the client if he wants to. A trailer template can be used as a slideshow as well, because it has some titles and placeholders for videos inbetween. Viceversa a slideshow template could be edited to be a trailer – or an intro.
Logos feature a logo, yes, but work with texts, images and sometimes videos as well if the user inputs them, and can be used as title reveals or short intros. They also feature additional text placeholders that can hold a tagline or other information input by the client.
You even use the words “logo”, “opener” and “intro” all in the name of one of your files, although you said in your earlier post they are not interchangeable
The borders are blurry because it depends on what the user does with the template. I’d say it is especially blurry between opener, intro and logo.
Thanks for defining them for me, although I hoped there were some rules like “slideshows have no text placeholders” or “a logo reveal with more than one text placeholder for the tagline is an opener” etc, that would be clear.I also don’t know what you mean with “being a bit too over” – cannot find that expression with google – but if you thought I was sarcastic, then no I do really struggle with selecting a category for my templates from time to time, so I was hoping to get some insight from the broadcast world.
being a bit too overly ironic Somehow that part disappeared.
For some categories in videohive yes, there is a thin line between distinctive usability. Its like car seats, can you put front car seat at the end and use it like that ? ofcourse you can, its a seat, you sit on it… but the place and placing for that seat is at the front. So intro and logo and opener is more like seats, you can sit on a chair inside a car, and you will be seated you even can use a safety belt! But will it be good usability ? Will it be according ? No. And so… trailer is like car tire. It just has to be in the exterior. You can try sitting on a tire.. but what you really need is a front seat. I guess i explained it
So yes, logo and intro is similar but its not the same. Trailer is nothing like opener nor its like intro. If we would talk in videohive terms, then you can put tags of logo intro opener ident trailer on a explainer item because ofcouse you can EDIT it and remake it into explainer but the primary use and placing is to explain stuff.
And yes sometimes i use opener and logo and intro on same item if its that universal and long in duration enough to be intro or opener.
in broadcasting opener is considered to be anything above 10 seconds. Ident is like logo reveal van be 1 to 5 seconds, Intro is more like a theme presentation and goes after opener. All those are or can be shown during one airing of a show. And trailer is not actually conjoined to show its in exterior it is shown to make people watch the show.
I know in videohive everything is a bit too close to make distinctive styles BUT people who buy items here usualy work in broadcasting stations and small commercial studios so they are not authors and all those categories are strict and clear to them. As they are clear to me Peace.
Creattive you are being a bit too over
Opener – opening sequence, identity forming – like simpsons , niptuck, or well known true detective. it has particular style which is not editable and says clearly what the show is gonna be about. It opens and creates certain mood before show starts.
Intro – introduction – editable and doesnt need to be very clear in style terms. Has to be informative, bring text information or visual picture information. Thin line between opener and intro in vh but in tv world its clear thing as there is no need for customization.
Trailer – title sequence. The whole purpose of trailer is to show off something that has already been done and show it in pieces. In example – A long 2 hour movie show in 50 seconds. So there is visual full screen information and text or overvoice giving info. Trailer is like candy to be eaten later. You give just enough and tease.
Slideshow – slides showing information. The whole animation is to presents slides which carry information not connected or connected to slideshow animation itself.
Logo – logotype, corporate or artistic. The whole animation information is made out of logo itself. All clear.
I just want to mention that intro is intro and trailer is trailer. Logo is logo and logo has nothing to do with trailer or slideshow or opener.
The first thing would be to understand what all those words mean and have some background in broadcasting and tv.
“example EPIC BLOCKBUSTER TRAILER will be cut off if the buyer is typing EPIC BLOCKBUSTER INTRO” Why would buyer want or need to find trailers in results if he is searching for intro.
Thats your free opinion – thanks for answer … if buyer search for CAR OPENER BLUE he will not get the exact great opener with a red car that he may be could colorize by the template
Wait but he needs it BLUE right ? So why should he find red then….
1. Buyer would not enter “blue” if he doesn’t really need blue style overall.
2. Why would author post his project with a tag RED or what ever when his car color is editable.
3. Post colors only if they are unchangeable
4. In example Lets use “Fast Car Opener” , so we find 31 Ae projects. Then on top we have “Car Opener” 85 , then “Fast” 5599 , then “Fast opener” 2513, and so on…. so you really want the search results to be over 20 000 results ? Are you serious ?
Sorry mate but this is the bigest nonsense. Did you really thought about it? Because i think you didnt. If you show all the “particles logo” and then in second position all items which has no particles but just “logo” tag … you end up with thousands of projects.
Search is fine as it is. Sales are back. I was following search engine functionality and malfunctions amd reported tens of bugs with search. And what i can say is that current search settings work very well.
If item doesnt have all searched keywords it should not be shown. Period
And maybe They don’t withdraw their earnings. no expiry date for earnings ? – but why for deposited amount ?
Why would you care about their earnings ? The only thing that is important is to minimize the unused unsold out dated items in the search results. If guy decides to keep his earnings and not to withdraw them for year its his own deal. The main thing is to give good results to buyers and hide all old unused items without support.
i think account should be disabled and all items hidden if the author did not log in for one or two years. Account would be re-enabled if the authors logs in.
That would lead to less very old items from vintage market times when it all started.
