1. Strictly Come Dancing 2. Coronation Street 3. EastEnders
Hold on wait, no that’s my wife’s list. Phew!
We do both enjoy Game of Thrones though
Thanks guys and a special thanks to Mangustas for the backgrounds.
You’ve got a great style that fitted what I was looking to achieve. I’ll come back to you when I’m finalising the style of the full game.
Let me know if you can think of any improvements. I’m going to be releasing lots more free Christmas levels soon guys.
It’s a reworking of a classic retro game from the 16-bit days of the Amiga and Atari ST.
It’s called Christmas Orbz and is a completely free (and ad free) game. It’s my Xmas taster of the full game which will be out soon.https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/christmas-orbz/id583667679?ls=1&mt=8
Any comments or reviews for the Xmas version appreciated, or feedback for the full game also very welcome.
Just thought i’d send an update on the project as it’s been a while.
I decided to try the dating software on it’s own site for a start, see how things go.
[links removed pre forum rules on self-promotion. Thanks]
I’ve used the CheerApp WP theme from TF for the promotional site as I didn’t have time to create something from scratch and CheerApp was ideal.
It’s only been live for a couple of days so I’ll just have to see how things go. I may still try it on Code Canyon at a later date.
Thanks for the kind words and comments on this project. Cheers Andy
I’ll send you a prod when it’s ready mate, cheers
@Moonworks Yes these were my thoughts exactly with regards to the ready made market of potential buyers. The only thing that worries me is the fact that the most expensive items on their are $50 and if I was going to release it myself I was going to try it nearer to $100, but as you rightly say, they have the potential client base already and I don’t.
With regards to editing the files, obviously to make major changes you would need to know what you were doing with regards to php, mysql, html and css. But I don’t see any reason why it can’t be adapted for a different market.
@Tamixes Thanks for the advice but I think for now it will be staying as a dating site as that is what it was originally intended as. Can I ask why you think it should be repackaged?
There doesn’t seem to be anything like this on the Envato network currently so surely that would make it stand out.
@KobusSwartz Thanks for commenting but I think it’s more of a CodeCanyon project as I’m wanting to sell the system as a whole and not just the design template.
Thank you all for taking the time to comment anyway.
Hi Pricop, yes i thought it would be more suited to CodeCanyon, just wanted to check. Cheers
Hi Alex, and thanks for the kind words of support. I understand what you are saying about the design not being up to the standards of ThemeForest the reason for this is that it’s really up to the user to create their own design based on our framework. The main reason for selling it is to share the functional code really, not so much the design. Thanks again for commenting, it’s much appreciated.
It would be good to hear from a Mod or Staff member on their thoughts as to whether it would be something that could possibly get onto CC.
Any further comments appreciated. Andy
I wasn’t sure where to ask this so I’ve posted in the All Marketplaces. Please move if it’s in the wrong place mods.
Basically I have a social dating site which I built and was going to use myself, but due to other work commitments I never got around to launching my own site properly so I’ve decided to package it up and sell the software.
It currently sits at: www.datingwebsitesoftware.co.uk
It’s got some nice features and it’s a bit different to a lot of dating sites out there, the social aspect of this one is that once you’ve joined you can invite your friends to write comments about you and they can recommend other users to you, stuff like that.
Obviously all source files would be included, it’s easy to change the templates or create new ones, it’s got an admin area for member admin, messaging members etc.
It’s currently set up for the UK but I’m going to add a selector to the admin for region and currency.
I suppose my question is… Is this something that I could sell on ThemeForest or CodeCanyon or is it not appropriate for these Marketplaces, and if not should I try and sell it independently from it’s own site?
Any feedback/comment much appreciated. Andy
The first step with a question involving a specific theme is usually to contact the theme author directly from their pages.
I can also offer you a bit of info on this matter.
The Sommerce theme is a Jigoshop theme (Jigoshop being an e-commerce extension for Wordpress) and I’m afraid the issue here is with Jigoshop itself as it doesn’t support SA Rands.
In your Wordpress admin go to Jigoshop settings and look at the catalogue page, here you will see the pricing options and available currencies of which SA Rand isn’t one of the options.
It may be that someone out there has created an SA Rand option but this would be an edit needed to the actual Jigoshop plugin, not the theme I’m afraid.
Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, I won’t be offended
I would still contact the author ‘SaraP’ I think as well just to make sure.
Hope you get it working. Thanks Andy
I’d have to agree with Lester, I think you need to step back a bit and have a look at the quality of the templates that are currently being approved. The quality is very high.
I think you’ve got a good start with your design but it all just looks a bit clunky and not polished enough.
In addition to what Lester has said I would also look at the typography, especially your titles, try looking at some different fonts, as currently they just don’t look that nice.
Don’t get dis-heartened and don’t take the rejection personally, use it as a reason to learn from mistakes and improve your designs.
