Look in theme options (most likely ‘Appearance >> theme options’) and see if you can see somewhere that says ‘Custom CSS’.

Alternatively you can ask the author of the file if they can guide you.

Or you can install a custom CSS plugin and use that. Like this https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/

All you need to do if you use the plugin or if there is an option in the theme is copy and paste the code above in there (and change the image or colour code to what you want).

If you are in any doubt ask the author – they are very reputable and it is a simple change (make sure you know what you want to change it to before contacting them)

If you want to use WordPress then you need to buy a THEME e.g. any of these http://themeforest.net/category/wordpress

If you buy a TEMPLATE that is just HTML e.g. http://themeforest.net/category/site-templates and you will need to use different tools to edit this as there is no management system as standard with these.

It is currently an image:

#header {<br /> background: url('images/header-bg.jpg') repeat scroll 0% 0% transparent;<br /> }

So either change the image to a different one (think about the sizing/repeat etc) or change it to just a colour e.g.

#header {<br /> background: #colour-hex;<br /> }

You can do this directly in the style sheet (skins.css) but you would be MUCH safer to do it using custom CSS in theme options if available or via a plugin

I am afraid you may find that an agreement between you and the author (irrelevant of the evidence available) is beyond envato’s control and it may not entitle you to a refund.

I hope you get it sorted and there is a known backlog with support currently but am sure they will come to it ASAP. Sending multiple emails though is not a good idea as it actually can serve to delay it further.

Good luck

Honestly the best bet is post a link in item discussions here then you get the benefit of authors and buyers etc.

There is no point in paying someone as noone can ‘guarantee’ you will pass except the reviewers themselves.

You are better off leaving a link here and getting general (and FREE) feedback

Again while we sympathise with everyone in this area (and suffer from the same problems), the reason envato and TF is a big and successful, with the treat range and quality (in general) of files is because unlike competition t5hey do not ‘own’ the files – they are merely a portal for others to sell their products.

This means envato does not have/cannot have zero legal or copyright authority on files. As a result there is nothing they can do to enforce authors not removing files, nor can they allow to continue to distribute (for any period of time) those files if the author chooses to remove them.

To change this would mean overhauling the entire structure of the marketplace and damage the quality and quantity available.

For what it is worth we do agree that if a file is removed due to copyright that the buyer should be entitled to a refund, however there cannot be a way for envato to list why a file has been removed ( irrelevant of the reason) as it would contradict all sorts of author, 3rd part and buyer privacy rules.

We are sure given the scale of envato and the call for this feature that if it was an option then they would have instigated it but we are almost certain sure that they main reason behind them having not done so is as we explained above.

The background colour:

Add the code to the cusotm CSS you made for the border e.g. that should in full look like:

.site-main .sidebar-container {
background-color: #aa1d28;
border-left: 1px solid #000;
}

Change the ‘background-colour’ to the colour you want. Make sure you have changed the ‘padding’ as in the other reply or the widget will look uneven with a coloured background.

For the read more – its hard without seeing the backend but one thing you can try is in your content in the editor, after the preview content click the ‘insert read more’ button in the editor (second in from the right at the top of the editor pane)
