Go outside and take pictures of the type of textures you are looking for. Such an easy thing that people don’t think to do.

It’s not looped. The start and the end is absolutely different.

I got one as well… but this is my theory of what happened.

Envato’s tutsplus site was hacked 3 or 4 years ago(emails, passwords, etc)... my guess is this person bought a bulk email address list from the hacker on the black market website and is now trying to make a profit.

oh… But i recently saw in the forums that people got their items approved with in hours. My last uploaded item took only two days to get approved. May be there’s a lot in the queue.

You should really check the date when posts are made. It could easily be weeks, months or even years old.

well said Digi and Jay.

I think this whole thing should operate like a goods and service tax. The buyer pays the tax amount and that is it.

NOw as an example here in canada there is a 13% tax that would be charged on anything you buy its called HST harmonized sales tax. The buyer pays it we collect it and then when we do taxes we pay a portion back to the government all depends on what you have to write off as a tax deduction against it. This only stands for as a direct seller tho, authors are not direct sellers because we have absolutely nothing to do with the transaction between the buyer and Envato. We collect a set commission on each sale that is it which we wait to withdraw for 15 days. A direct seller gets paid before he sends the product as a good example lets use E-Bay. Any time i bought anything on E-Bay i had to pay and wait to receive the goods the direct seller got paid soon as i checked out. Again this shows that authors here are not direct sellers.

I think the reason why envato is doing this is to cover their rumps for tax purposes. Which i understand but i think there is a better way of doing this not to confuse and piss people off.

So here is a scenario the buyer pays the tax on the purchase envato collect the tax and pays the tax to the government or who ever they have to pay taxes to. I think this would make sense to me why now all of a sudden the author is responsible for this. If the author is responsible for this then there would be a way of doing this. If i get 60% commission then i pay taxes after that and i would receive that tax money that envato collected from the buyer on the initial purchase. Envato would get 40 % of that tax money collected and they would pay their taxes accordingly after the 40%. It is pretty simple math. I don’t know why there is this big confusing story.

Cheers

Lester

You basically just described the VAT tax and envato is already or just about ready to start doing.
