i would say that on themeforest, codecanyon and videohive it is somewhat “easier” to emerge and to earn more money. there are less authors and items are priced higher than on audiojungle.
just have a look at the “top author” list… on audiojungle there are 8000 authors with more than 1 sale. on themeforest/codecanyon/videohive less than half. moreover, authors sells considerably more…
less competition, more buyers, higher priced items..
if you can choose, don’t choose music!
just for the sake of curiosity i’m monitoring the sales across the audiojungle markeplace and i think that very few people (out ot more than 8000 authors) will be able to decently live with audiojungle earnings. maybe less than 50 or 100.
and consider that, if you are not on the top list or top selling author, this kind of business is very random. you could easily sell a lot for some months and then, suddenly, the search engine algorithm changes and you disappear from search results… :-/
i found twitter pretty useless for promoting my audiojungle music… maybe i cannot get the right followers/find the right people to follow but i feel that it’s not generating traffic. i had the idea to get in touch with videohive authors to feature my music in their project but it didn’t quite worked out for me! :-/ soundcloud and youtube seems better.
You can try my collection: This is a pack with my files from where you can access the single itemshttp://audiojungle.net/item/ambient-scifi-suspence-pack/discussion/3349966
Congratulations!!!! That’s a good choice!
obviously we are allowed to sell the music elsewhere…
damn we posted at the same time! maybe next one!?
