I’ve been able to follow up on the specific case in discussion here and the report was received by the support staff on Sunday (yesterday). The file in question was immediately disabled at that time and assigned to a Senior Reviewer to confirm the complaint. As it was the weekend, these things may take a little longer than 24 hours to be processed. The information we receive back from the reviewer will then allow us to consider our next steps. I want to stress that it will be fully investigated and handled appropriately but, to echo what Travis and myself have already said, these cases often require more than one staff member to process and can at times be complicated, but they are not taken lightly.

I had a similer issue 3-4 weeks ago and nothing happened to the author. I sent 3 support tickets and all i got back was because of privacy reasons you could not say anything about the author who violated my rights.

There has also been a few more, 1 author saw a thread on here and took his item down and came on and admitted he stole from an author on here only a few days ago.

Hi everyone,

There is some really great discussion here and I just want to chime in real quick to say that the support team does have a process for dealing with reports involving copyright or intellectual property claims the outcome of which can range from file disablement or all the way up to permanent account bans. In many cases, it’s more complicated than simply pulling the plug on an entire account without speaking with the appropriate staff and having a thorough investigation/discussion about the specific case. I suspect that may be the situation here.

With that being said, I want to stress that Envato takes copyright and other intellectual property issues very seriously. Every copyright/IP concern sent to the support team is investigated and I encourage you to contact us immediately if you have a concern about a file or author.

@bitfade If you haven’t already, please contact us about the issue that you’re talking about in this thread. If you’ve already submitted a ticket, please let myself or Travis know the ticket ID number so that we can follow up on it.

We all understand that a user who violates the copyright agreement will have a item removed and possibly have his/her/their account disabled, but when its a blatant rip like a lot are becoming and found guilty for, then the author should be disabled out right and not just item removed!

That’s not true. Items get disabled/removed without a DMCA in many other cases. To verify whether an item is broken because a buyer reported it is hardly different than checking whether it uses code from another existing item or not.

I have been contacted by support because a buyer reported a bug in one of my items, they asked me to fix or they would have been soft disabled it, i gave them proof there was no bug, they verified i was right, case closed.

Copycats claims should just be handled in the very same way.

+1 as it can easily be checked.

Also a dmca is not needed as Envato has the rights to remove any item without notice or reason, so why a dmca is needed is beyond me :/

Here is the part where it states it and i quote:

“Envato may refuse, in its sole discretion, to allow you to offer the Product for sale on a Site. Envato is not required to give reasons for refusing to allow you to offer a Product for sale on a Site.”

and

“You acknowledge and agree that Envato may, at its sole discretion, elect at any time and for any reason to remove your Products from a Site without notice to you. Envato is not responsible for any loss that you may suffer as a result a Product being removed from any of the Sites by Envato.”

Ive just installed it.

I hate it, everything i open goes to the desktop of the old system.

The ui is bad, the arrow when hovering over stays the same so you dont know if something is clickable.

All in all i am not impressed and i am seriously thinking about re-installing windows 7 ultimate again!

The only php file i use is the contact.php file for the contact form to work.

The author who stole my theme and put it for sale 3-4 weeks go is still trading on here even though the author was found guilty and item taken down.

I know this is against the rules about talking about it but I have contacted support and the email I got was we take this very seriously bla bla bla.

Fine when i check, maybe you are not going to themeforest.net, Maybe you files have been hacked and your local is making themeforest.net point to another domain without you knowing.
