How about forgetting this whole new support thing and instead:

  • Create a forum-like support interface for each theme (like on WP.org)
  • Create an option for buyers to DONATE authors if they’re satisfied with their support

This way the authors receive extra $ for support and it keeps them motivated to continue developing & supporting their items.

Hello!

There is a strange problem I ran into and I’m getting really frustrated after spending my third day with this. HTML5 video doesn’t work properly on all android device. On iPhone 4s, Sony Xperia Ray it worked, but it didn’t work on Xperia Z2, Moto G and Nexus.

I tried to find the issue and set up some testing pages but NONE of them worked.. see below:

http://themeprince.com/fixvid/test1.html http://themeprince.com/fixvid/test2.html http://themeprince.com/fixvid/test3.html http://themeprince.com/fixvid/test4.html http://themeprince.com/fixvid/test5.html http://themeprince.com/fixvid/test6.html http://themeprince.com/fixvid/test7.html http://themeprince.com/fixvid/test8.html http://themeprince.com/fixvid/test9.html http://themeprince.com/fixvid/testa1.html http://themeprince.com/fixvid/testa2.html http://themeprince.com/fixvid/testaxx.html http://themeprince.com/fixvid/testaxy.html

As you can see from these example I tried: - relative/absolute paths - removing/adding attributes - different javascript calls - different video formats - different file size

Any ideas? Please help! Thank you in advance!

All those spam topics could be filtered with regexp like this: https://regex101.com/r/sT4bO8/3

Thinking this forward… of course spammers can variate numbers like adding a minus sign, etc.

Maybe there should be a number character counter for topics. If there are more than 9 numbers in topic title, don’t make it possible to create.

“For EU authors, we’ll be managing the EU VAT compliance (i.e. collection, record keeping, invoicing, remittance, and so on) for sales made to non-business buyers through Envato Market”

OK, but what about business buyers? I guess we’ll have to deal with them?

I agree with you completely.

The main point from the Webdesigner Depot article:

“Services that just give you the ability to host an online store or that deliver digital downloads for you will not exempt you from having to deal with the VAT yourself.”

Well, first of all, Envato doesn’t give us an ability to host our own online store (companies like shopify offer that service), and they also do not just deliver digital downloads for us; they sell them, and that’s pretty clear given how the system works. It’s silly to claim otherwise.

...unless the service is willing to act as the seller.
