Short but important questions as we have 2015:

1. What is Envato’s VAT ID number?

2. In which country Envato registered to MOSS.

3. Is VAT added to retail prices for non-business EU customers as it should?

And don’t forget they still have to state who the seller is, that still determines who in the end is responsible!

I would appreciate your help on how to handle this situation. I’m lost and without support.

Everyone in this thread is. According to Envato (or what I understood from their ‘huuuuuge’ source of information) us authors have to do nothing more then we had to do before. In theory they will do the paperwork in our name. The only problem is that from now on we authors are the sellers of the content which means in the end we are the ones responsible, even if it is Envato that makes the mistake.

So if they want authors to stay here instead of running of to stock sites that use a royalty base program and take their responsibilities they will have to start being way more transparent and prove they are worth our trust.

Does anyone know if it is possible to inactivate your account for a while? I really don’t wan’t to get into trouble with the IRS and certainly don’t want to sell anything anymore until this abandoned ghost ship stops heading towards the cliffs.

Btw I found a very funny joke on the legal agreements page :p
52. Changes to Envato Market Terms: Although we can change any of our terms at any time we will take reasonable steps to let you know when we do so.

Everything,,, Your email, your address, basically everything that authors need for Tax claiming things. So your personal privacy is no more.
Please don’t speculate like this, it does nothing to improve this thread and is simply FUD. Please wait for an official reply from staff.

So if I understand it correctly it will not be possible to legally sell anymore on Envato as a European student? As a student you’re allowed to work as an employee but not provide services. So if from now on I’m assumed to be the seller then I will have to end my account ASAP because otherwise I will lose more money then I have ever made on Envato. If Envato is not an employer anymore then what exactly are you? You are taking 50% of the profit, only pay out the money once a month and that only if a certain goal is met. Please explain me how you can justify this because my small brain can’t grasp this.
Envato was never an employer, regardles of their seller status. You got it completely wrong here. You were and are working self-employed when you are selling over envato. Also, I don’t know what country you’re in but please make sure you have your facts right regarding not being allowed to work for yourself as a student because what you describe sounds very…wrong.

Exactly. Envato was never an employer. However you can sell items which are your creative work just like an artist: painter, writer etc. In Poland it’s allowed and you don’t need register as company to sell licenses.

This is why it’s so extremely important to describe relations between Authors and Envato not only according to VAT but generally.

We need to be sure that Authors are content providers and Envato is service provider and seller.

And that’s it. This is the only way to keep individual Authors from EU here.

That was the point I tried to make as well. It’s not easy discussing this kind of topic in a foreign language. Also, in Belgium, I will get into trouble with student statute if I’m considered the seller and will have to start paying taxes while now I don’t have to.

Hey fellow jungle animals,

I came across [link removed] video from the official page of my favorite Belgian beer. Sadly, I don’t think I can ever drink it again after seeing this sad case of copyright infringement. (Nah, just kidding)

I can’t remember whom the song is from. Can anyone tell me so I can contact the author.

cheers, Matt

I guess that is the only logical explanation possible then (although he didn’t show up under registered members). Thanks
