I am a bit late in seeing this thread but i have to say what a load of *&%^ :( from Adobe!!!

Seriously does this mean any site making money with “flash” somewhere in there domain name are going to have to change there domain name?

ActiveDen dosn’t say flash to me flashDen say flash to me. Would ActiveDen help come across this place in the first instance. No!

Why are you giving into Adobe? if the domain was flash.net then fair enough.

We do have an animation section. But in order for a file to be a flash animation, it has to be an animation built with flash. Not an animation imported in flash.

Ok then some files are getting missed in the review process. i cant think of any particular files off the top of my head but i do know that i have commented and others on files that where either sequenced bitmaps or flv’s.

Most probably the post starter will know of a few else he would not have made the post to begin with.

I don’t think it’s a case of having an animation section. FD already has a category for this.

What the question is : Q. What does FD class as a flash animation?

I am not saying that all these big files are naff. There are a few and i am sure we know which ones that are pretty big but what they give for that size is pretty good but again the files are out of place on FD

When you do see the files that get through it makes you wonder what crap they are having to bin(refuse). Fd talk a lot about raising the bar yet these files get through.

A sequence of bitmaps loaded into flash could display some animation. Would this be classed as flash animation? checking out some of the animations on here there is quite a few that where not done in flash but because flash is being used to hold the animation sequenced bitmaps or video then is classed as flash animation. Do you think that’s right?

Surely an animated file should either be coded animation or time line tweened animation.? Purely video should be refused and the uploader told to go to video hive and well sequenced bitmaps should just be binned. Seriously not even 30 seconds animation can take the file well over 1mb. Is that good practice?

My two cents.

Could the same be said for a sequence of bitmaps?
