Thank you every one, especially Vikram. I can see it clearly now!
Hugs for all!
I recently completed my second PSD template and it was hard rejected (which I respect). The reviewer said that this might get accepted in the “Site Templates” category but the PSD Templates category requires higher quality in terms of aesthetics. Thanks for giving me some hope, dear reviewer .
It’s my own creation and I tried to give my best so I can’t quite put my finger on what went wrong. It would be super awesome if some of you TF gurus can criticize it. Be brutal please! It has 22 pages but I won’t bore you with all of them:-
- Category Page
- Products Grid
- Products List
- Product Page
- Product Reviews
- Blog Post
- About Us
Now you also con’t scroll in the old previewer when it does work.. lmao
Thanks @VikramVerma, you’re right.
So I have been working only my second PSD template since my first one was rejected. I usually have hundreds of tabs open for inspiration including screenshot previews of existing PSD templates on ThemeForest – mostly just to get ideas on what content each page should consist of, I am not copying anyone.. but I digress.
The new screenshots previewer doesn’t work well for this use-case because:-
1. No thumbnails – sifting through dozens of pages to find the right one isn’t exactly fun.
2. Doesn’t support deep linking – good bye to whichever page you had opened when doing a browser restart, back to 1.
So I have been using the old screenshot previewer by right-clicking on the screenshots button and selecting Open in New Tab. The problem is it is 404’ing for most of the PSD templates ever since the new previewer was implemented. I realize my use-case is not exactly common but the old previewer is also used on mobile (try re-sizing your window to a small size and click Screenshots) so I think this should be fixed!

It might sound bad but AFAIK it’s your own server so you’re free to use copyrighted images at your own risk. I’ve also seen some authors here do that.
You can give a better experience to your customers by using properly licensed ones and including them with the theme though. PhotoDune is pretty cheap and there are also sites like Upstart.com.
