For animation itself the book “the animator’s survival kit” form richard williams is a very important book. doesnt matter if you animate 2D or 3D charakter or objects. this book goes from the basics to the high art of animation.

Congratulations! Nice way to enter the new year! And sales for me stopped completely since forever I think i might have to start uploading again.

On a second look i think 8 memory slots is too much for the budget, you would be sacrificing allot on cpu/videocard if you wish to have 64gb compatible motherboard with 8 memory slots.

The one flashato linked is a very cool one as well, i would look into that if your budget reaches it.

Would love too but the thing is i know the prices in euros and i kind of calculate in that way, i have no idea what the costs are for you and where you are going to order it also plays a factor. Just look at a motherboard with 4 slots of memory or 8 like i said depending on you and your budget. Also compatible with your processor, they all have a descent sound card installed on them currently so i wouldn’t even bother with buying a separate one.

You shouldn’t be overclocking that specific chip i linked so stock cooling with a nice airflow case should be sufficient. A 850 or 1k power supply to complement i suppose.

But i am doubting if the 6core i just linked really is worth the money atm. So you really shouldn’t take my word for all of it Just giving suggestions.

I think the ultimate solution is building a server with 2x i7 chips 4core 8 threads resulting in 8 core 16 threads with 64gb memory and videocards in sli or a big quadro card with ssd’s.. but this is more of a fantasy build

Ps. Overclocking with the new generation chips and motherboard is as easy as clicking a button btw, it isn’t like it was before where you risked blowing up your pc everytime ;D so that shouldn’t be an issue if you are thinking about doing that.

I would say a 6 core / 12 threads processor

gtx690 nvidia or one of the quadro series if you don’t want to do anything else then rendering and editing on your machine. The prior is more of a all rounded better card.

32 or 64gb of ram depending on the motherboard your going with and what types of memory.

at least 2 ssd’s to run your software windows/editing tools and 1 to render upon.

The rest is all up to you, cooling/case/motherboard/soundcards/ is just preference based so i cant really give a opinion about them other then they should be compatible with your other hardware

Have fun building the beast! 4k budget makes a sweet monster.

In the meanwhile i found ’’Save the Cat’’ by Blake Snyder and ’’Master Shots’’ by Christopher Kenworthy which i will definitely check out with ’’The Writer’s Journey’’. There are so many good books to read, if anyone has a personal favorite on the subject i would love to know what that is and why

I would really appreciate it if any of you here have studied on the subject and know maybe a book or two about the art of storytelling.

Anyway, as a way to improve myself and grow in the world of film i am searching for anything that can improve my way of thinking about storytelling in film, motion graphics, writing and so on.
