Hi, you can use mine, too!
Thanks a lot for the reply! Actually, the “Fire Blast” JPEG setting was a mistake, it has to be PNG + Alpha. Thanks for noticing that!
Talking about the “Smoke with Wind” (the one that I have a problem with), I am sure I exported it with an alpha channel. I always check the video in After Effects before uploading. In addition to that, out of 71 customers, I received only one complaint, and that was the most recent purchaser. This suggests that everything was fine for 70 people, then at some point the alpha channel magically disappeared and I got the complaint.
I actually managed to overcome this issue buy using the RGB as an alpha channel since the smoke is all white. I’ve already updated the product.
But still, how is it possible for a video file to lose its alpha channel, when it just sits on the Envato servers? I checked my edit history, and the most recent edit was on August 6, 2014, when I changed the thumbnail.
Something really odd has happened.
I have a product in the Motion Graphics category. It is a video with an alpha channel and it was uploaded back in 2010. It has got 70 sales or so, and there haven’t been any complaints about it during its 4 and a half year life. Then, here comes a customer who has purchased the video and found out that there is actually no alpha channel. They contact me, I download my product (since I don’t have the original one on my computer anymore) and I realise that it really has no alpha channel! In After Effects all alpha properties are grayed out, even though I am 100% sure that the it had an alpha channel when I uploaded the video in 2010. The customer eventually gives me a one-star rating but that’s another story.
So, the question is: how does a 4-year-old video on VideoHive lose its alpha channel all by itself? Has anything similar happened to anybody else?
It took less than 24 hours for our latest project!
I think these two items deserve to be on the bundle:
1. Drop Hello – http://videohive.net/item/drop-hello/4434042
2. Block Logo Opener – http://videohive.net/item/block-logo-opener/2657784
3 extended licences in one day. I. Am. Dying.
My last withdrawal was in August 2012. Since then I keep my earnings in my VideoHive account So I guess it’s safe, of course I don’t know what would happen if Envato shut down, but I’m pretty sure it won’t happen in the near future.
