Thanks for the replies guys. But what do you mean about improving the preview? I like the colour bands, and how else would you show off 5 different weights of icons? You realize the black and white ones are a separate image.
But anyway, what am I supposed to do since they were hard rejected? I’m not supposed to re-submit them right? But I feel like they deserve another chance. I spent way too much time on them to just have them shot down with no explanation. If you guys agree that they are nice icons, then why would they be rejected? I would think that only obvious junk would be rejected outright.
I’m thinking of maybe submitting just the best weight, since, as Toivo says, some of the heavier ones don’t work so well? But the multiple weights is supposed to be a unique attraction of this item.
It would be nice if they gave you a specific reason for the rejection instead of leaving you to wonder, eh?
If it were issues as simple as giving incorrect descriptions they would just tell you to fix that and then accept it.
Sorry, your links are confusing. I think your designs are all nice except the yellow/white and blue/pink one with the angled shapes and dots. The Facebook one is… Facebook. Maybe they could reject that one for copying a trademarked style. I don’t know.
I just spent the last three weeks (not full time, but many hours), creating this original set of web icons, with an original idea: various weights so you can choose whichever one suits your needs. I got the canned response that “it did not meet our minimum requirements for quality and/or Envato Market policies.” Whatever they don’t like about it, it is so bad that it is not even possible to make improvements and resubmit. I have never had an item so bluntly rejected with no specific explanation. What do you guys think about my item, and what can I do now? I spent so much time on this and I think they are worth selling.
72 Tapered Icons and Arrows
This set of 72 icons comes in 5 different weights so you can use the one that fits just right into your design. Carefully crafted on a 32px grid.
- 256px transparent PNG
- AI (Adobe Illustrator)
- Web font formats: WOFF, EOT, TTF and SVG
I think your first design looks fine. I don’t think it should be rejected. Your last one is rather boring IMHO though.
I just got a big design rejected like this today as well. Are the GR reviewers becoming overly critical?
OK. I’m just thinking SVG should have the same format status as EPS, JPG, PNG, etc. Currently it isn’t a format that you can select from the “Graphic Files Included” list, even though it is the most standard universal vector format.
Crusader12, I don’t understand your comment.
Of course. I thought everybody on Graphic River would know. http://net.tutsplus.com/tutorials/why-arent-you-using-svg/
You don’t know what SVG is?! It’s a vector format that web browsers can display. You can use them like PNG or JPEG but it is vector, so resolution independent and smaller file sizes (most of the time).
