Cheaper for already cheap files??? Please, no.

For people “out there” in the civilized world: I remember buying my first microphone, a Shure C607 (ideal for karaoke), which at that time was 31$. That 31$ converted to RON represented my salary for 3 months. At that time I was working in philharmonic orchestra as a first trumpet player (true that I was a student at that time, so legally they couldn’t pay me the first category, but still…).
Option no2 for people in Eastern Europe, to just plain steal it from illegal distribution sites.

Instead of publicly shaming people who are actually respectful to some extent, hoping that an author might have some human empathy and help, maybe you should have explained to her your reasons for which you keep your files commercial.
I’m sure she would understand.

How about Envato offering an educational discount?

Bad style to show her e-mail and full name in a public forum. The message text would have been enough.
You read my mind.

This is not true. Almost half of May i spent under impression (supported by facts), that OLDER tracks selling better then newer.

Your only chance is to keep uploading and building the portfolio as wide as possible.

This is true. However, this only emphasises the problem and exponentially accelerates the race to the bottom for everyone.

While your hopeful new author grinds out new tracks day by day, their older tracks have already fallen under the radar and stopped selling. The result: Sales-to-tracks-ratio of 1,X which can hardly be a sustainable performance target.

Regular Uploads multiplied on Constatly Evolving Quality. Thats my formula of success.

Personally, I don’t think regularly uploading is the be-all and end-all of everything. If that was the case then all those top sellers with just a few items in their portfolio wouldn’t have the huge sales that they do. Also, new uploads only stay a short time on the front page now before they disappear into the depths of the archives. Just my 2ยข :)

@FirstNote, soundgridmedia – Guys, i appreciate your work. Just one suggestion for both of you, which may be helpful. One of you had 5 uploads on May, other even less. Such uploads schedule mean you need huge extra promotions outside AJ (personal site, Facebook, soundcloud, etc.). To be precise i think this is not enough to sustain interest to your portfolio. This is my personal opinion, there is a lot of examples when same upload schedule generate more sales. But just imagine, how much new authors added to AJ. And this guyse also want sales! :)

Absolutely disgusting month, and right now sitting on 10 days without sales – this is absolutely ridiculous and has never happened before. So, after several trending tracks and consistent sales over 1,5 years now it feels like this profile was simply switched off by the search engine. Not sure that it is worth uploading anything anymore. Will be watching this closely.
i agree completely , we share similar situation here..usually after 15th till 20th i still get sales..but my new full track items still not get sales yet..so i upload some sfx and as far as i can tell , only sfx can sell..i don’t know why this happens..maybe some economic situation changes or new implementation of responsive site change perhaps..only 12 sales so far , below my averange income :(

I mean if buyer whant to change something in your file – make it shorter or longer, add something or remove something.

I dont understand, walk us through a real life example…what do you mean exactly by saying paid customization?

Hi everyone! I think its time to suggest new feature for AJ – paid customization of our music. This is opportunity to earn money both for us and Envato. What do you think? This customization could be officially promoted on every item.
