Thank you, Luca.

Great advices. If you are planning to do some mixes with voiceovers for tv/promos I would also recommend avoiding the sidechain effect (the ducking), and go with volume automations instead, this way you can achieve a smoother and pleasant sound. :)

Do not agree with you here, sorry. Most of markets do not support any conversation with authors. I really respect Envato for such attitude.

Thank you for answering us – this is why i love Envato. Friendly community, focused not only on corporate interests, but on some things too, that support this company from inside. I mean, i was impressed you have time to answer us. :)

+ + + for the announced modifications, however, for your reply, this is very, very funny, I’d call it anything else but community focused. They will still focus on what they want, no matter what it takes, profits will always be the main priority and they made it very clear to us.

The only time when they’ll take us into consideration is the time when their profits are affected. Like in the mandatory support, if lots of authors would search for other solutions, they’d surely not like it. It’s actually kind-of late now to try and win the sympathy of the authors, as the trust in envato as a business respecting their partners is close to 0, for me and for many many other authors.

Some people may say “Wowww, envato is so community focused, they care about us, bla bla”, when you’ll live off Envato and it will be your main source of income and you’ll see that your opinion doesn’t matter at all, when you’re the partner with the 70% of the “business”, you WON’T think the same.

Good advice too, thank you.

You don’t really need ‘master’ your track that way. Usually post-production engineer simply ‘duck’ your track with sidechain compressor, or sidechain eq, or manually, or using complex methods. Still, if you wanna make some room for voice, you just need to make ‘light’ music, without heavy content in the middle part of the spectrum, and look at upper part for crossing with sibilants. Look at ‘newscast’ tracks, how they maded.

Thank you for advice. :)

Sometimes optimizing means arrangement without instruments/sounds playing on vocal frequencies, sometimes it means some equalizing lowering colliding frequencies in music usually 2-6 kHZ. But I don’t know any universal preset for that… it’s like using presets for mastering music in software – very individual case.

I mean creating version of track with equalisation of part of original spectrum with aim to clear it for voice.

I may be completely missing something here but what do you mean by voiceover optimized? From my experience, I don’t do anything to music that’s going to have a voice over, as the film editors just automate the volume themselves. For adverts and things I know ducking is used.

I am gathering any useful info about how to prepare track master for voiceover. The task is simple – how to master your track so, that it will be ready for voiceover without any trouble. Some of us already selling voiceover-optimized tracks, some include both version.

All explanation was given here http://audiojungle.net/forums/thread/a-more-balanced-envato-market-important-changes/140925

Very confusing … why would Envato favor the non-ex? Hopefully there will be some clarification upon this issue.

It is extended i believe

Can someone please explain me, where the rates gone from the statement tab?

I don’t see now what a rate was on any purchase of my tracks.

And ALSO I’ve just sold some track for $50.40, how is it possible? It’s note the extended one (probably) and not regular one, so what is it?
