One sale in march so far.
interesting….....i want to know now.
good stuff. As a Logic user this could be very exciting.
If ContentID is to become our industry standard, it would be best to let our buyers know about the process, so that they’re comfortable with it and know how to deal with it on their own.
+100. The best thing is to deal with these things as they arise. It’s a lot less (often unnecessary) work for you and gets buyers familiar with the process, as Pierre says.
Regarding channel whitelisting, you indeed have to contact AdRev about this, and provide them with the URL of the YouTube channel in question. However, there is a caveat with this. AdRev will firstly have to review the channel whitelist request, as on occasion they won’t be able to do this if the client’s channel already has existing, uncleared AdRev claims by other AdRev registered composers on their videos.Whilst this isn’t a big problem right now, as more composers join AdRev going forward, this could become more of an occurrence, so another reason why it’s important that buyers get used to the claim clearance process.
Alright that sounds pretty legit. I guess i’ll wait and see what happens.
True. I am thinking about it in particular when it is not an agency. A really big company just purchased a music pack from me. It would be easier for me and them if i messaged AdRev since i know they will probably be using all 5 tracks in the pack.
With all of this talk about AdRev i have an interesting question. Now that we have invoices and sometimes i can easily track down who the buyer is…Should i whitelist their channel before they upload their video with my music in it so we dont run into any problems? Recently ive been getting lots of buyers using their company names and with their location i am able to track down pretty much 99 percent who it is that purchased my music. Usually they have a Youtube channel with frequent uploads as well so i am thinking this may be a good idea? Any thoughts?
Edit – after looking at AdRev i thought i was able to enter in any channel but it looks like i would have to message them to have a different channel whitelisted.
First half of the month was slow and now things are picking up. Made a sale on a Chillstep pack i did overnight. It was a one million broadcast one…so lots of money!
