Idk if this guy was already mentioned, but D-Music has some amazing stuff. Very clean. Check it!http://audiojungle.net/user/D-Music/portfolio?WT.ac=item_portfolio&WT.seg_1=item_portfolio&WT.z_author=D-Music
December has given me a harsh lesson in exposure. This month I fell off the front page (had a featured item last month) and WOW have my sales taken a hit, dropping from 2-3 sales a day down to a sale every couple of days. hopefully it’s just a fluke. Lesson: It’s sure amazing what a little exposure can do.
Wow, what a great idea And you’re right, it’s so so simple. Very cool.
Del makes a good point about trending and the motivational category is the most popular – I think. Also the cinematic is popular and trying to find a niche is difficult since there are so many good authors out there. What genre style is your best sellers and stick to that is my opinion although it is nice to have as wide a variety in your portfolio is a good thing as well. The bottom line is that time will dictate sales revenue and that if only we could produce that elusive “hit” to kick start a sales frenzy would be nice! I have tried to cover as many areas as possible and await to have a “hit”!
Producing a “hit” is the biggest mystery to me. I guess because some of the tracks that have really taken off are ones I’d never believe could. I just finished a track that, after doing some market research and trend watching, I thought would really sell well and have a high utility. (I based this off of tempo, instrumentation, structuring, etc.) But alas, the market still proved stubborn and unpredictable as my track sank into the background. I guess the search continues!
So I saw a Harmonica Kontakt Instrument for $150, and I was thinking, couldn’t you buy a decent Microphone and a brand new harmonica and play a real one for maybe half that price? I am all for instrument emulation and sampling, but I think there comes a point where we need to think about actually learning to play the real instrument. I’ve been contemplating buying the Ukelele from Wavesfactory, but I was thinking maybe if I just saved up a little more money I could just get the real thing and record it live.
Any thoughts on this subject?Correction to title: I mispelled the word Unnecessary—that’s really going to bug me.
I totally agree for things like acoustic guitar, electric guitar, shakers, tambourines, and other relatively simple (and readily available instruments). However..idk about the rest of you, but I sure can’t afford to hire an orchestra I always try to lead away from sample based music as much as I can. It’s always good to learn a new instrument anyway. I REALLY wish I had room for an upright…even though I love my piano libraries.
Congrats!! Now it’s on to the next
Wow Brandon, that’s killer! Congrats man, you’ve really been moving along steadily since you joined AJ. What you’ve accomplished thus far has been nothing short of amazing Keep it up!
