argenisferrer saidI had one of my items disabled once, and you enabled without me doing any modifications because there was no bug. There are a lot of things that can go wrong, and they are not necessarily bugs, they are particular cases. I just spent a few hours last night debugging such a problem that was caused by an error on our buyer’s server … we could not reproduce the problem on our own development server.
I’d love to clarify! And hey community!
The thing is that if we have confirmed an item as malfunctioning or misleading, and decide to contact the author (instead of disabling it), then, potential new customers will be buying a product that we know is not 100% working or as described, which is not legal. That is the main reason right there, to continue to sell an item we know to have certain issues, as we can not expect customers to purchase something and wait for an update.
I, of course, understand the point on losing potential business, but if an issue is confirmed by our staff, as an author, do you really want more customers purchasing the item (and potentially getting upset over it) if it has a known problem? This is certainly an interesting case though.
I think the main issue here is that Envato doesn’t do anything in protecting authors from abusive situations … like disabling items for so called bugs or from fake DMCA notices.
Here is ours.
Any ETA when the rating will be made public and we will have the possibility to reply to it?
It doesn’t need any options for reporting the rating because I don’t know what reason, or “begging” a buyer for a higher rating and I will do anything for it.
Any official answer on this? This seems like a problem with the API and not a modification. I just do not want to do the modifications and after, if this was a problem, my items to stop working again.
I’m curious: DMCA notices have priority or they are answered with other tickets.
@UBLThemes I can see why you have very different opinions regarding takes with @dnp_theme … but there is a big difference between UK and Romania.
In comparison UK is a tax haven and you receive decent services for the money you pay.
UBLThemes saidThat is truly illegal.
Within the UK, if you do not declare your earnings you face a penalty of up to £3000 GBP and if you refuse to pay this fine you face up to 1 year in prison.
In Romania it can be up to 11 years
You are not the only one. Got one from a web design agency (at least this is how they advertise themselves on their Envato profile) that one my WordPress plugin doesn’t work on their theme. The solution was on this page. We explained the error and showed the page to them, they “yelled” at us how they were doing this for a long and they don’t need lessons in WordPress development. So I ignored them, but if they read this just “add wp_footer() in footer.php and stop being stupid”.
I really wish the reviews were public and we can reply to them … I think we can have a good laugh.
P.S. Most of them ask for a refund. I hope Envato are not refunding their money.
Please try to use the comment section or the Support Forum. In the files you downloaded there is documentation.html. You have more informations there. Also there are a few videos that should help you with your problem.
P.S. This topic should be moved to Item Discussion category.
