I do think this could be a big thread, as people were debating long time a go themes will be a big thread to the industry and in my book they are killing it overall now.
As with Grid, it can take a big bite into our client pool. Will see what it brings. Keep in mind majority of sites built with themes are mediocre at best. They look great on demos but people just do not know how to use the design given properly
And once they get something that will give them a “good enough” with not much of work, option what do you think will happen?
usually 5 days was normal for the first response for some time now, we are still in the “normal” stage which is ok, i just want to know so i can plan
No bashing, just asking so we can plan. 7th day is coming on our item so queu I just want to know what to expect, usually we got a response till Tuesday morning.
This is really awful, the font is to big as we stated…, overall a disaster, i would suggest getting the old style back until things are resolved.
while I was supporting some tickets and got really frustrated by arrogance, rude behaviour and extortion levels to which some people would go I got an idea.
I would organize my team to make a small site which soul purpose would be to expose this kind of support requests now I would need few questions answered and maybe some input from the community.
All the site would be doing, is allowing authors to register and post screenshots/comments of there support ticket (the whole conversation), so they can link when they get savage attacks on item comments and on forums, so other clients and authors see the real picture.
Why? Well we have no meaning of defence from unjust ratings, rude behaviour etc. Even if we mark the comments, the damage is usually already done and the marked comment always leaves doubts in peoples minds.
I only need to know, if this is allowed and if its allowed to post users username in the process?
It would be some kind of clients from hell but for envato purposes only.
Maybe I am rushing this from my emotions, well what do you think?
Yea the font size is to big… and the colour is killing my eyes.
If the theme is broken, you will most probably get a refund, if there is nothing wrong with the theme, and is the matter of configuration or some problem on your side, you will most probably not get a refund.
Overall on themeforest things are, for us non most popular themes authors, dying. Was checking last 50 items for example, and only few that have a bit higher sales. One or two maybe that will get on most popular list.
Average theme just does not sell. To be honest I started questioning everything. This will rapidly move back as a hobby job if something do not change.
As mentioned, things are being very bad! Last year we had half of products and almost same income. Don’t know why, but in most cases I think that in last year market shifted to multi demo one theme to rule them all type of themes. That took quite a chunk of other items.
Now the rule is either you get your item on most popular or have to have 50+ items to have a decent income.
Hope this trend will slowly change.
