I understand this topic, because I see sound more than I hear it. It may sound weird, but all I see is colors, shapes, patterns, volume, height, etc. That is what has made music interesting to me since I was a young kid… Just endless colors and patterns streaming through my head.
Hopefully the one I will get to make some day (my dream)
But for now… Last of the Mohicans, and probably Hackers.
I highly doubt world-renowned composers would ever consider selling music at these prices.
Enigma, Orbital, The Orb
I used to put a limiter, but it adds a considerable amount of latency…
I sacrifice a hamster to appease the sales Gods.
haha, yes… specifically why I said “classy strip club”
Nothing classy about it…
Yeah, I bet more than we would like to think it is ending up in cheap porno videos and other such name / image killers. I know I had one used to promote a classy strip club in CA, I wasn’t too pleased about that, but it is what it is.
It’s great, but not so great cause you wont be seeing any royalties and you probably wont get any real credit for it either. It is a good feeling though. Cheers!
I think most people will agree that a great master starts with a great mix.
. <- period
After that pre-req, mastering is really a matter of fine tuning the balance and monitoring it in an accurate environment which translates well to many different environments.
A quote I once heard that helps support that concept is: “If you try to polish a turd it’s still a piece of $4!7”.
Achieving a great mix is a matter of talent, knowledge and to some degree equipment, and according to many it is the hardest part after the composition.
However, I am no expert… Just regurgitating things I have heard and read.
