Hi!

The only track I have that comes slightly close is this http://audiojungle.net/item/cinema-crescendo/929440

Tim McMorris has a new song that could work.

Hope you find something!

Hi Guys,

I’m currently emailing back and forth with someone that would like me to record a track for them. Whilst I’m very happy and flattered to get my first freelance offer I’m now thinking about the ins and outs of it all. A few questions on my mind are:

1. Do I need some sort of contract? 2. I assume I retain copyright of the song 3. Can I put the song onto AJ? 4. Should I be paid up front?

I also have no reference point for what to charge for a track.

Any help from you freelancers would be awesome!

James

Hey. I dont know the criteria for being selected but I think its probably just something that catches a reviewers ear.

My track was selected to be featured a couple of weeks after it was approved so I guess pretty much any track at any time has a chance of being featured. Just luck perhaps!

Good job getting featured! And thanks for the mention! My track getting featured had a big impact on sales. As for the U2, delay guitar thing, its a common sound but when done well it does seem to sell so why not give it a try. People cant afford to use U2 and Coldplay songs so we can offer the next best thing! Simple chords, a catchy riff and good production are 3 basic ingredients to these tracks in my opinion. They’re not groundbreaking tracks but in my eyes neither are U2!

I actually play drums in a rock band so that music is made without boundaries. Influenced by Nirvana, Led Zep, Alice In Chains, Foo’s etc. I doubt it would sell on AJ though but people love it a live gigs and its been on radio a few times so it’s two very different sides of music.

www.soundcloud.com/seedband if you’re interested to listen.

My AJ music has a lot of feeling put into it but I think you gotta be clever if you want sales. I’ve only been on here a couple of months but I’ve been paying attention to what sells and what doesnt and trying my best to get noticed. Luckily for me, feel good guitar-based tracks are my strong point when it comes to the royalty free game!

Thanks again,

James

||+519421|pinkzebra said-|| I would offer to provide stems or audio splits for an additional fee but not hand over your source file. It seems like giving someone your source file leads down a murky road in terms of copyright.

Yeah thats probably the best idea. What do think is a fair additional fee?

I see. Cheers. Is this a common request? Not sure what to charge for something like this. Extended license maybe?
