Listen to this track by Allegro120: http://audiojungle.net/item/happy-ukulele/4658536?sso?WT.ac=portfolio_item&WT.seg_1=portfolio_item&WT.z_author=Allegro120 It is mixed GREAT in my opinion and I can’t even get close to this as I’m using it as a reference for my new Ukulele song. Its like he has the magic powers of an extra 5 db![]()
An extra 5 db? that should be our human perception. When you’re mastering, try take note of the RMS not just the peaks. Your peaks might be already hitting the top but if your RMS is just simply low, it’s not gonna sound loud.
The next step is then to maximize the sound. Ozone 5 does a great job on this, having the options switch how agressive or subtle you want the maximising to be.
Mastering tracks, making your tracks louder dynamically would give perception that its better plus I think many buyers would want something already well done.

Before you go, have a look at this picture, Green_Eyes:![]()
CLASSIC!!
It’s so true Green Eyes. Without promoting, two sales. When I get finished producing the EP I am working on, I will actually have time to work on promos and a better looking profile. Don’t give up so easy.
damn.. What a good pic! Yeah man, don’t give up so easily.
How about sharing some film scoring chord progressions and techniques that you guys use? Would help a lot.
Am i part of the club?

Reubenchng, are you talking white noise when you crank up the input gain?
yup, definitely talking about that one. Well, doing AB comparison, white noise on the fast track is really obvious compared to other audio interfaces
This is usually the driver compatibility with the OS you’re running on. On another note, I find the Fast Track USB introduces some white noise when you crank the gain a little higher. Anybody had this issue?
Steinberg discounted their VSTs for cubase users today on Valentine’s day. 50% discounts. Who’s buying?

Hey Reuben My advice: Don’t even install “halion symphonic orchestra’’ or any other trial version from Steinberg, there are much better libraries available
Cubase is in my opinion the most powerful DAW of all, but not Steinberg’s sound libraries…![]()
argh. Logic used to have so many good sounds that I can use straightaway. What good starter libraries would you recommend? Average prices would be good, have spent a lot on software and hardwares this new year! lol
