+1 I agree. Would be super sweet to see where referrals are coming from. I use bit.ly to shorten my links and get basic tracking info and an idea of where some of my referrals are coming from and how many times they are clicked. It also displays basic trending.

@kh2838 I like the idea of an increase from 30% to 40% or even 50% of there first deposit, since as a beginning author you start out at getting 50% of your sales… But getting a 5% or 10% of there sales would really be dipping into the pockets of envato and future authors. IMO

I disagree with you because the second proposal (getting a 5% or 10% of sales for life) can increase reveunes for both parties: Envato and Authors.
I explain:
For Envato
The authors will be more motivated and they will double their efforts to refer new member (sellers and buyers) which means more potential for Envato sales and trading, more files to sell, and more buyers, so more traffic to the marketplace.
For Authors
If you refer only 10 users with a total revenue for all of $ 10,000 per year so you will have 10% x 10,000 = $ 1,000/per year
Now imagine that your refer 100 users for one year. So you get $ 10,000/per year only from the referral program.

These Authors will be future participants in the referral program, so they will earn in their turn as you and so on!

Yes, but it is still linked to luck and opportunity.
I think my proposal is more reliable because it can provide more stable income.

Everyone have an idea about the Envato’s Referral program , which in principle as: Refer new users to Any Of The Envato Marketplaces and you’ll Receive 30% of Their first purchase or cash deposit!
Frankly and in my experience, this program is not too inspiring. personally I do LOTS of efforts to promote my refferal links, I spend much time on the computer for this task, but unfortunately no real reward.
Case Study:

you may notice from the picture, that I exceeded for 1 ½ years 116.577 clickthroughs, but I won only $ 30 during this period.
PROPOSAL
I propose to change the system operating the referral program as follows:

• Referral Program to attract buyer(you will receive 30% or 40% of that person’s first cash deposit or purchase price)
• Referral Program to attract Seller (Contributor)(You will receive for example 5% or 10% of his earnings for life or for a considerable period (one year for example)
