Let me point out what I want to say:
If a 3D mockup has about the same level of realism like a mockup based on a photo, it is (logically seen) “worth more” than the 2D mockup (if all features except the 3D/2D thing were the same).
but I think the term “worth” is quite abstract and doesnt go along with the price of an item necessarily.
You shouldnt neglect that an item may only cost as much as buyers are willing to pay for it.
If there were 2 Items that look exactly the same, but one of them is flat and the other one is 3D and they would cost for example 5$(2D) and 10$(3D), I am sure most people would buy the cheaper one because they like the style of the mockup and just want to present their design (and don’t need it in unlimited perspectives)

@h3design Are you telling me that there is something wrong with the realism of his 3d mockups? How many people would even consider that his phone5 3d mockup is not 100% real? Or his paper bag 3d mockup?

There is nothing “wrong” with it, but its simply not as realistic as a photo.
Especially for the phone mockup, I can easily tell that its not real. The paper bag thing comes closer to realism, but since there is no realistic background / environment, it might not be as realistic as a client wants his mockup to be.

just an example:

I dont want to and can not judge which style of presenting is better. It simply depends on the buyers taste/needs.

Check the best selling mockups and you will see that majority of them are 3d render based.

Actually I see alot of mockups under the “popular files”, which are based on photos.

Regarding the main point of this topic, I can just say that the item´s price is not necessarily proportional to the time or knowledge needed to create the item.
In the end, there’s always just a buyer who wants to present his product. For most buyers it will not be that important how dynamic the file is.
And I could also argue, that mockup packs based on photos offer alot of different perspectives in the most cases. Yes, not as many as a 3D mockups offers, but its more time saving for the buyer since he can choose from different premade perspectives (that the author considered usefull).
I think it just depends on what the buyer needs or on his tastes.
Person X could argue that a 3D-bases mockup gives alot more possibilites and should be priced higher.
Person Y could argue that a mockup should be priced concering how realistic it is, because one could say that this is what matters when it comes to mockups.

The biggest problem about this is that authors will keep their items hidden to submit them to (as they hope) more efficient times.

this would cause an even bigger flood of items on specific times/days and our products would disappear even faster from the front page.

@kops
The one-star ratings don´t necessarily come from “true” buyers.
As mentioned multiple times in this thread, it´s often other authors who rate products 1 star to fight the competition (in an unfair way).
Sry but I think “noob” is still a harmless word to desribe this kind of people…

Congrats ! And, by the way, when does an author become “elite” ? After $100 000 sales ?
