I do not agree that piracy forget. Should spend a little time and energy to fight the illegal sharing of links.
I don’t mean to say that all you can do is ignoring it. As I said above, I had to ignore because I realize that the author’s personal effort to kill all illegal link is just like a grain of sand in the ocean. Moreover it kills your time and inspiration to be creative, which only cost you more.
Maybe there should be a more intuitive way to send DMCA at least.
I use FreshKiller. If you don’t know about it yet then give it a try, it helps a lot.
I am not quick enough to see what you posted, but I myself think there are always both side of an issue. An earning badge can give you high reputation (sure!) and the only disadvantage I can think of, is if someone know you in real life and also know you on this market; and they know how much you have earned and started bad things that can cause you problems. Remember Flappy Bird ? Thing changed a lot when everyone knows that the author gets $50K / day via the media.
Thanks ShapShapy for your response. I agree with you that it is kinda useless as mentioned on my first post. I was wondering if there are possible extra measures that we authors can take to show people that only from envato marketplaces (or our websites maybe) they can get the “real thing” +more…
I understand your concern and how you compare the differences between TF & CC and GR.
Actually when people buy themes or plugins, they also buy the support of the author because coding is complicated and most of the times the users don’t want to mess with it. If they download themes or plugins illegally they might not get the latest updates (web tech changes everyday!), and may expose to the virus and malware risk within the illegal shared code. But when they buy a vector – I mean it is what it is. Nothing more. That’s why an update can hardly protect us GR authors from being stolen.
Here is what you can do:
- Reporting warez sites and links everyday, file hundreds of DCMA notices / day, either by yourself or hire someone to do that (many services on the internet). If you do this by yourself, it would take a lot of time and energy and inspiration. Sometime you don’t even have the mood to produce new item .
- Ignore them, keep producing new items.
- Learn more and get a job which gives you more benefit and a stable income.
That’s it, from my own experience.
It can’t be denied that the refresh totally brought a new breath to the whole design after many years. However I also feel like this design still needs to be tweaked a lot. One of the first things to be easily recognized is the text and button contrast doesn’t look well as before, I find it hard to read some text or to notice a button on this field of all – grey elements. Hope it would be improved soon.
61 pages and we’re still stuck with an illogical navigational system and user-unfriendly header section. Make you wonder why anyone bothers to comment at all.
Yes I agree, there should be a solution to this head nav bar. Most of us would click right on the left side logo to get back to front page, but now we would have to click exactly on the logo of the page on the nav bar. Not sure if I can get acquainted with this experience.
Isn’t there any explanation in your rejection email ? Because there should be some words about it. Creating a Support ticket is the right way, and I would prefer to wait for an official answer
