I don’t think widgets are mandatory though, remember there is that “widget ready” parameter when submitting the theme to review queue.
edit: Actually, we have one approved theme without widgets so I guess that’s settled.

I always thought wordpress is just for blogs? and everything else is kind of a “hack” to make it work the way it does?
Using a page as a blog category to display blog posts was a “hack”. We still get questions from buyers why we don’t use such a blog page.
Since the introduction of post types, taxonomies, etc, WordPress stepped up from being just a blog platform to being more CMS oriented.

freshface saidExactly, websites exist nonetheless. About blog being a requirement on TF, you have any direct experience ? as in reviewer = “no blog, GTFO!”
if WordPress wants to really become CMS then it should not be forced to include a blog section.
Yes, direct experience

Unfortunately it’s a requirement and you will get rejected if it’s not there. One one hand I agree that it’s kinda expected in WordPress themes, but if WordPress wants to really become CMS then it should not be forced to include a blog section.

@urbanray – my plugin was not php, but JS and CSS.
@freshface – Yes, the plugin was hosted almost as it was, even with my sample images.
Then it’s a nono
edit: Tell him he can get a free private repos on bitbucket.org if he does not want to pay money for github private

The themeforest license clearly states:The PHP code is licensed under the GPL license as is WordPress itself. So I think in that case it won’t be anything illegal even if someone distributes the plugin or any other piece of code.
But that’s PHP only, what about JS, CSS, images, etc? Were these hosted on that public github repo as well?

freshface saidI like both together; makes sense, imho.
Btw, why FAQ tab gets replaced with Support tab instead of getting a new tab?
Good work devs!
I was just interested to know if it would be easy to implement a new tab. Because one of the scenarios could be that they just had to rewrite one of the tabs (FAQ), for whatever technical reason.

Does this tab is accessible to all users? If yes, I think the support tab should be accessible only to those who have purchased the item. If anyone has a question regarding the item he can place a comment.
Not sure about that. Before purchasing, I would like to know how and where the author handles support.
