Extremely bad so far. Last month was good, and I was very motivated to upload more tracks, even do it on a weekly basis. Not any more. Coincidence or not, but november is by far one of the worst months on AJ for me so farm and I think the search engine beta testing has something to do with it. Hopefully it will get back to normal
This is the wrong thinking, if you don’t mind me saying, as the search engine gives more weight apparently to new tracks, if everything is to be believed.

Since the search engine update, I’ve seen an increase in sales.

I have not uploaded anything for 3 months.

Then it’s all clear: it’s a conspiracy :P Maybe the search engine isn’t the reason, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s my karma :P

Sale drop here as well. First I thought it was just bad luck, but after reading the stuff about the search engine, I think that has something to do with it, especially since I’m not the only one experiencing this.

I know that the search engine was supposed to change, but I didn’t know it has. What are the changes?

If you only change the colors and heading font yes it’s bad. If you customize it so much that it doesn’t look similar to the original product it’s not bad. Put yourself in the client’s place :)

This situation highlights what I feel is the single biggest issue on the table for AJ right now. Tiered pricing is needed urgently so that we can all feel good about hearing our AJ music on a national TV ad campaign. The vast mismatch between a $17 AJ license and the usual $10,000-$25,000 spent on original music for a national commercial is almost too painful to fully contemplate.

We all signed up for this and we all knew what we were getting into, but there needs to be some adaptation and evolution of the business model. I don’t think it makes sense to anyone that it should cost the same to license a track for a national Suzuki TV ad as it does to license the same track for a YouTube cat video.

I truly hope we see a new licensing structure soon. No one feels good when there is money left on the table, and a major financial opportunity is being missed here.
