I know there are other threads to celebrate the 3.000.000 items milestone… but i want to add some fun facts about the marketplaces.
i ordered the items by “sale” and i tried to figure out where the items with at least one sale are. for example in photodune if you go to “all files” and order them by sales there are more than 54800 pages, each with the same number of items. if you go around to page 4790 you will find items with 1 sale and at page 4800 there are items with no sales at all. so about 9% of the 2.700.000 items got at least 1 sale. following the method i figured out this:
In photodune, from 2.700.000 item just about 8% have at least 1 sales and less than 1% have more than 10 sales. less that 30 items have more than 100 sales!!
In audiojungle we have about 93.000 songs/fx. about 60% of them have at least 1 sales and about 1% of the items have more than 60 sales.
Better make music than photos!
In Videohive there are about 42.000 videos. about 70% have at least 1 sales and 1% of the items have more than 270 sales….
I should have chosen making videos instead of making music!!! LOL
Is there some VH authors willing to feature my music to help me reach the 1% of items with more than 60 sales on AJ!? My [link removed] has only 22 sales… about 3.5% percent of the items have sold like this!
I upgraded 2 years ago from Kontakt 3 to komplete 8 and i must say it’s awesome!
not a single sale here!
sorry i forgot the question mark in the title…
We have a chart for the “top new authors” and a chart for the “popular items” which have top sales in the past week/month.
why not a new chart with the newly approved that sold the most in first week/month they are online?
For audio, you can simply download the preview from audiojungle item using the small “triangle” point down at the right of the player. Then you can use the “watermarked” audio for your videos, citing the author link as reference and sending an email to him saying that you used his music in your video. if the buyer of your item want the music, he goes and purchase it from the author.
I don’t think you are allowed to sell the music you purchased on AJ as a part of your video projuect.
BTW… are you interested in some of my music?!!
One of my two nominations:
Corporate Logo reveal
still looking for a second one!
more than 5 files in the zip will not be accepted… i solved the solution with my next item to be approved (i hope) by including: 1) short version 2) normal version 3,4) loop version with 2 variations
and by explicitly saying in the description that “other variations/loops/etc could be arranged” since the song, because of its arrangement, can be simply cutted / reassembled / looped in different very easily.
in the preview i included both the short version (first… to get the attention fast!) and the long version. hope it will work!

I really can imagine that at a certain point companies want a sound that no-one else has used yet… it can be a bit embarrassing if you are a prestigious company and you are presenting your product then an inferior company goes “Yo! I used the same track for my project” and then a consumer notices… I’ve seen this happen in the world of stock photography where a prestigious retirement home company used a photo of an elderly couple for their ad and then a funeral service company used the same photo, they both had ads in the same magazine and the retirement home company was VERY embarrassed (this got featured in Jay Leno)
well, if a prestigious company uses stock music/photo is not so “prestigious” according to me. sound branding and exclusive portfolio are a must to create a name in the industry and they cost money. i would be surprised if, e.g coca cola or Toyota uses stock music for they advertisements…
just wait…. It’s in the queue of my next songs to do…. since actually i have also the mandolin!
