So just reading their documentation: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/opengraph/

Tell me now, can we dynamically generate metas ? Without breaking OG rules.

<title>The Rock (1996)</title>
    <meta property="og:title" content="The Rock" />
    <meta property="og:type" content="movie" />
    <meta property="og:url" content="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117500/" />
    <meta property="og:image" content="http://ia.media-imdb.com/rock.jpg" />
    <meta property="og:site_name" content="IMDb" />
    <meta property="fb:admins" content="USER_ID" />
    <meta property="og:description" content="A group of U.S. Marines, under command of
                   a renegade general, take over Alcatraz and
                   threaten San Francisco Bay with biological
                   weapons." />

From the docs, it states:

Editing Meta Tags You can update the attributes of your page by updating your page’s tags. Note that og:title and og:type are only editable initially – after your page receives 50 likes the title becomes fixed, and after your page receives 10,000 likes the type becomes fixed. These properties are fixed to avoid surprising users who have liked the page already. Changing the title or type tags after these limits are reached does nothing, your page retains the original title and type. Cheers

I don’t know what you mean by rules, as there aren’t any visible ones as far as I can tell. Yes you can dynamically generate OG tags using a server-side language only (and not client-side like JavaScript) for it to be readable by Facebook’s robots.

I’m really disgruntled on the fact that Envato only displays New items on the homepage and it should be “New/Updated” so people can see what products have been updated to support newer functionality and whether people should look at them as they would be pretty much considered a new product because it has new additions to it.

By doing just “New Items” on the homepages, it discourages me a lot from updating my items and I would probably guess that it applies to other authors on Envato’s marketplaces. I would update my items knowingly that it would get additional exposure (and sales), however I know the abuse factors to this, that’s why I suggest that reviewers should have the choice to decide whether the item has had significant enough improvements to have it displayed on the homepage.

I can probably guess that I’m not the only person to make aware of this, but I really feel that it is being ignored and laughed at. Maybe I might be wrong, but to me, that’s what it currently stands.

I really do hope that my voice is heard, or if something as little as this can’t be implemented, then I don’t know why I bother making improvements if it doesn’t generate any more money.

We’ve finally reached 800,000 members on the Envato network, and I’d say about 50% of them being multiple maximum.. but at least 100,000 active members across the community and always growing.

Everyone deserves an applause for themselves – it’s a great community out here!

Less than 958 signups before we reach 800,000! Less than 200,958 signups till we reach 1 million!

Either way, it’s absolutely phenomenal – I could remember buying an Activeden item back in mid 2008 when it had 252,000 ish members. And, with the amount of money Envato is making, they should most definitely place one of those countdown screen thingys from the Social Network. They were really cool.

I think we’ll reach the 800K mark by Thursday, at a estimated growth rate of 1,000/signups daily.

I guarantee that 200000 members cant remember the name of this site.

AA-Team: With the amount of money people are making, it would be pretty safe to say there are a lot of active buyers circulating throughout the marketplace. Not everyone needs to buy something on a active basis (depends on what you define an ‘active user’ as) so it would not matter having active buyers as people only buy when and as they need it, not when a new item comes on for sale.

ThemeProvince: And how exactly can you guarantee that? Or is that merely a ‘figure of speech’?

Cloudfront is expensive and does not have as many edge locations as Akamai
You can set up Cloudfront using a custom origin (e.g. your existing server), and it is only a few cents more than S3. The fewer edge locations become a benefit for smaller sites, because the odds of a cache hit are higher.

If the delivery speed is fast enough then the cache does not have a huge benefit and therefore ‘fewer edge locations’ will only benefit having lower operating costs for a CDN . And, not every computer has a cache enabled, and if there are a vary of unique types of requests made to a CDN then more edge locations are necessary to give a faster speed over time.

There has been a lot of money that has circulated across Envato, in at least eight figures throughout the years. I would presume at least 70% of users on Envato are paying users due to the addictiveness of high quality content that is available.

Well, there might be multiple accounts, but it’s no harm to say users – I mean, look at Facebook, they claim 600 million active users yet that could not be entirely true.
