brb, just getting my 4×4’ ice block ready
Sure. It also costs to hire employees, and pay the light bills, and everything else. The point is that either using credits or paying a fee is a HIDDEN cost to the user. The advertised price is not the actual price. (Credits are a hidden cost because they expire and you can’t withdraw them easily) All costs of doing business should be reflected in the price up front. Adding a fee after the user has chosen to buy something is a small deception to the customer and a small attack on the author of the item who doesn’t get a piece of the transaction fee.
I completely agree with you (though “hidden” is a little dramatic), but you should know that (thankfully) Envato are currently taking steps to remove these fees, and would therefore scrap the deposit system as well most likely.
ThemeBurger saidWordpress releases constant updates that affect security, stability, etc. A theme needs to stay current with those updates to fully function.
So can someone clarify for me?
A properly coded theme does not need updates, I have themes that have been error free across 8 wordpress versions now, with no updates.
It’s all about the quality of the developer
MSFX saidI don’t usually leave the office but Retina :/
Ivor saiddepends if you want to leave the office with it or not
I’m still undecided whether to get an iMac 27” 32GB RAM 3.4 GHz or a MacBook Pro 15” 16GB RAM 2.5 GHz — 27” is such a gorgeous and huge display but 15” MBP is Retina. I decided to ditch the idea of the MacBook Air because I need more power. With so many great options is difficult to decide
Retina laptop is mega useful, get a retina MBP and then treat yourself with a 27” display
452 sales so far, a great month!
Yes! Now put on the T-Shirt, and pour ice water on your head
The list includes all themes that mention either Slider Revolution or Showbiz Pro in their item descriptions, even those that are already using patched versions of the plugin. We’re doing this so we cover a range of scenarios such as a buyer purchasing a now-updated theme back when it was still using a vulnerable version.Hope that makes sense
This doesn’t make sense when the theme was released after Feb 2014 and has never had a vulnerable version of Revslider anywhere near it though? Seriously, I have multiple themes on the list that shouldn’t be anywhere near either list since they were released well after the patch!
My theme does not run in /wp-admin/widgets.php so how the error occurred here?
Likely your theme or a required plugin of your theme is enqueueing either JS or CSS in wp-admin that is affecting the widget areas.
Did the reviewer give you any browser or OS details to match their video?
I must admit, over times I’ve skirted both sides of the fence when it comes to these big “multipurpose” themes, but this is starting to get a bit silly now.
50+ demos for a theme is simply unsustainable, never mind the 6+ bundled premium plugins, Envato really do need to start stepping in on issues like this.
If Envato are making moves toward sustainability (read: support changes) then sustainability needs to be the name of the game across all areas, and a market where buyers are starting to expect to see 10+ demos per theme (I’ve already been asked why I don’t do this by buyers) is simply unsustainable.
