Hopefully this is the right place to post this and if this request is not possible, at least I tried =). I was curious if anyone could make a tutorial, perhaps maybe a 2 part-er in which they could explain how to create beats and/or music in the style of a fabulous artist I just discovered by the name of Trentemøller. If you haven’t heard of him and you are into electronic/ambient/trippy music, go check him out. So anyways, thats my request and I would love to see if anyone knows how to go about coming up with sounds/beats in his style.

I really haven’t been a fan of iPods, personal preference. It’s turned into this massive trend where if you have to have an mp3 player it must be an iPod. Like the article states, iPod has become synonymous with mp3 player. I dont actually own one at the moment. I want one, have for some time just haven’t had time or money at the same time to spare to get one. My brother owns the 120gb Zune and I really like the features it has, also I use the Zune software on my computer to play my music instead of windows media player these days. I think visually it looks great and works very well. Since the new Zune HD has come out, it has been bumped up on my “things I want” list. From all the reviews I’ve read or watched of it, looked at it in stores as a demo, I really want this thing. The screen looks great, it’s small and the overall look of it, I think, is really nice. Supposedly, it blows the iPod touch out of the water, especially the OLED screen. Also, a good thing I’ve noticed around where I live about it, is that it is CONSTANTLY out of stock quickly after shipments are received at the electronics stores. Whether that’s due to low numbered shipments or high demand, I don’t know that though. I don’t plan on buying my Zune HD from a store, since they only seem to carry the platinum version of the HD 32gb one and on the zune website, you can get a few different colors, one of them being all black, which I want. The other thing I might enjoy is the HD tuner. Will be nice to hear radio at CD quality when I do listen to it, perhaps find something more interesting on the radio to listen to than the usual garbage. All in all, I’m looking forward to getting mine and if I get it soon enough, I’ll be sure to write a review on it and put it up on here.

Just, wow. What an awesome and inspiring feeling to see another icon added next to my paw. Gives you that sort of pat-on-the-back feel and makes you want to write more and more. There’s alot of amazing authors on here and a tremendous thank you for taking interest in my work and featuring me.

Hopefully this is the correct place to post this, if not feel free to move it to wherever. I have a track that needs two elements that I do not have. It is an “epic battle” type of track and I need either someone to take my audio file and put the desired sounds needed onto the track for me, or be kind enough to send me two sample sounds. The sounds I’m looking for are, I assume, probably included in East West’s Storm Drum, which I do not own at the moment. I’m looking for a mammoth sounding gong and a cymbal played with mallets and crescendo type rolls being done on it. I only own East West’s Goliath and it has a puny sounding gong in it and would sound retarded for the type of mood the song is portraying. If someone could either point me in the right direction to find some sounds like this, be kind enough to send me these two audio samples or if another author would like to work with me, I could send the file to them and they could put the sounds where I need it and mix it down for me and send it back. I only have two “rules” about that, is that if I send them the file, the person helping me does not get to sell the file as their own(I will give thanks/credit to whoever does help me out and a link to their profile in the song description box). As I am the full composer and arranger of the piece, just need a little help. Also, if they happen to like the song, they can keep it, I have no problem with that. I am willing to either pay a reasonable amount for these two samples or if someone would help me, I would gladly help them out if they ever needed anything themselves. Who needs an $1000 Roland TR-808 when you can just ask this girl for some high quality drum samples, REAL analog. Kind of comical to watch stuff like that come out of someone.

Exactly what I was thinking when I saw the thread to post things through twitter accounts for AJ authors. Do I get a billion friends and just tell them when I’ve written new songs and what I’m eating while I’m writing them? The whole twitter thing seems like nothing more than a simplified facebook and/or myspace status in the form of a mass phone or AIM /MSN/Yahoo text. As for AJ authors an solely living off the income from here, I doubt it, at least right now. If I only people bought music like they do flash items. Someday…

That’s really shady. When I have the extra money I can unload a good amount of money on vintage synths, cameras and electronics and thankfully I’ve never had any transaction that I’ve lost all my money on. The only problems I’ve ever had is shipping problems. I bought 2 of the same vintage turntables and both of the sellers were idiots and both of the turntables came damaged. One of them worked to my advantage, I still have the turntable and I got a full refund. The other was a “fully serviced” vintage synth. I get the synth and its working fine for 20 minutes or so than the display goes out on it and is intermittent. I take it to get repaired and it was just a loose power supply, but than he found that 40 something capacitors were leaking acid and should be replaced immediately before they do damage to the double-sided circuit boards. Definitely wasn’t happy about that after forking out 2500 for the thing. But the seller was nice and paid for all costs. After reading this story, I’m definitely going to be much more aware of the things mentioned here though.

I have been thinking of the same idea, seems someone thought of the idea well before I was a member but feel free to use my music as well.
