@jremick
Agree, I think the prices for HTML templates and Wordpress themes are fine and are a great income. Just hoping the prices for php application will increase. Guess we have to wait till the announcement next mont

I just don’t understand how an HTML template can be $15 and a fully working help desk system like the one I typed above only costs $12….Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the vast majority of users who come here aren’t looking for php scripts? I mean, if 75% of the people who come here to buy something are coming to buy a site template, then common sense says that the site templates will be more expensive so as to maximize revenue.
Or, maybe I’m just cookoo
So what do they have to lose when they increase the prices for php applications.

Yes. However, most of the PHP scripts sold here on Envato are small and lightweight. Hopefully in the future Envato will fix this seeing as PHP work can be quite time consuming.
I think applications like Clivo, QuickTick – The Deployable Helpdesk, Client Works, PHP Login & User Management, ThumbsUp and others are way under priced, these applications aren’t really “small” / “lightweight” if you look what you can do with them. And the time it costs to develop such an application in comparison with a HTML template or a WordPress theme.

That’s why not so much full featured and complete application build using PHP scripts around the marketplace, isn’t it?
I think that’s one of the reasons, I’ve created an PHP application and it took me quite some time to create. After its finished you still have to debug so everything works good and then its ready for sale.
I’m just not sure if I should sell this app at ThemeForest or try to sell it myself for a more decent price.
Something I forgot to write in the topic post, is that there are HTML templates that share the same price at the highest PHP application price.

Hi there!
I’m about to submit a php application to themeforest and sell it exclusively. But when I check the highest price for a good quality php application, like Clivo it only costs $15.
While Wordpress themes are being sold for $30, and from experience I know the development to create an application takes much longer then creating a Wordpress theme. Don’t take this the wrong way, I build Wordpress themes as well, but this often takes less time to build.
Now my questions to you, is do you think PHP scripts are under priced?
Kind regards,
Philo

Love to see more changes in the future!
