Actually, the winning submission was no surprise. Congrats guitarsstate. Well deserved! Still thought the finalists would have been presented in the podcast. Will there be an extra section about the podcast theme tune contest in episode 4? Damn you podcast badge! Someday we’ll meet again! >:(

I totally agree with you… even though I love your track too, it rocks big time, could be awesome for a Showreel… you both ROCK !! it was definetely a fun competition and next time it’s gonna be hard again, I wonder what the next competition is about… Scott???

for me it’s more fun to produce music for a competition than just for myself, cuz it inspires me the prize even doesn’t matter that much for me, it’s the fun that matters!

There’s really no telling why certain times of the week/month/year turn out to be good or bad for sales. Sometimes your individual sales can shoot up, some times they can stay really quiet for a few days. What I can tell you however is that sales as a whole are up, so people are still buying a lot of files here.

It’s important to understand as with any stock site that, it’s not just about upload a few tracks and sitting back and hoping for the best. Sure, this may yield some sales, but if you are serious about making money from stock sales, you really need to take responsibility for your own work and work hard to continually produce more audio and to promote it by yourself. Brand yourself. Get yourself involved with the Envato communities and external audio communities. Use social networking effectively. Create your own Web site or blog and market your own files.

There are hundreds and hundreds of ways you can be proactive about marketing yourself and your audio. Don’t just think internally on Envato marketplaces either – go beyond that – go global.
