Ok how about this usage

I buy a jquery module extended license. I now use the full script unmodified and just create a backend for it so that the slide can be used and maintained in a Joomla, Drupal DotNetNuke or similar portal system

Is this allowed or not because I have seen a few around but if I read your license explanation

You can’t re-distribute the Item as stock, in a tool or template, or with source files. You can’t do this with an Item either on its own or bundled with other items, and even if you modify the Item. You can’t re-distribute or make available the Item as-is or with superficial modifications. it seems this is NOT allowed am I correct?
Correct.

I sent out an email to every author who sold items primarily on the Tuts+ Marketplace, but have less than $50 in their account telling them how to get their earnings. If you are one of those authors, but you didn’t get an email, first check your spam folder, then shoot me a message.

As it states in the FAQ, you only need the regular license. I’m looking into the incorrect advice you previously received. If you can send more info via my profile page, that would be much appreciated.

Thanks for all your great feedback on the new licenses. Based on some common questions, we’ve written a clarification post: http://notes.envato.com/news/marketplace-license-update-clarifications/

Question: If I buy brushes or styles, for example, why can´t they be used to create a logo – not even with an extended license (IF I got that right)? Would have thought that would be covered with that one? Makes them partly useless for me. Got to think about buying elsewhere now….
The license for brushes is the Tools license, not the regular or extended. The rules for tools haven’t actually changed. They just got moved to a separate license to make things less confusing.
Many thanks for the explanation, LanceSnider! I think there should be a link added right beside the items (tools) in question – right now, when I click on “regular” or “extended license” I won´t easily find any hint that there is another special license applying to that item. Which isn´t less confusing, if you ask me… My two cents: Don´t make it too hard for people who are willing to respect a license and spend their money here to find and understand the rules. I think all the related links and a short explanation of the special terms for the item should be right beside the item description.

We felt that it would be confusing to have a link to the tools license from items that don’t have a tools license. If you go to brushes or any other tool, there’s a link right to the license right next to the price.

We had a glitch with the email and no one was notified. Thanks Zeplix for pointing that out! I’ve sent another email to all Tuts+ Marketplace authors to inform them. Sorry!

Just to keep things in one place, I’m going to lock this and point you to the official thread: http://graphicriver.net/forums/thread/closing-the-tuts-marketplace/86760

Lance, I’ve double checked my email, as well as the spam folder, as well as deleted folder, several days back, and there’s no mails to be found. To be sure I was checking the right one, I also double checked which email address I use here. So I would probably check on your end if other authors did not get the mail. When was this sent out? That said, a 1 month notice is very short on something like this. I mean, practically half my income from marketplaces disappears quite suddenly. Heck, announcing new marketplaces that aren’t even up and running yet get a longer notice :p Any chance of at least a big sale or something the last 2 weeks or so?
I’m really sorry about that. Yes, I’ll check that right away. Shoot me an email about your tutorials, would ya?

Hopefully I can clear up some of the fears and concerns you guys are having. :)

First off, we’re not closing any other marketplaces. 3dOcean and ActiveDen are safe. We’re closing this one because we have another, very similar service on Tuts+ which we believe is a better venue for learning as well as authors earning. Please be sure to read the full explanation here: http://notes.envato.com/news/closing-the-tuts-marketplace/

Zeplix, I’m really sorry to hear you never got the heads-up email. I sent one to every single author on the site. I even double checked and you were on the list. Hopefully I have the right email and it didn’t go to the spam folder.
