If you’re an active member of the Envato community, there’s a good chance you’re already aware that in late April, many Envato staff members set off to tropical Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to have our second ever staff conference and official community meetup! Over the two weeks in which we were there, we discussed a huge range of topics and laid out plans for the future of Envato. We worked as hard as we could to get the most value out of our time there and discussed many topics such as our company goals and values, our development priorities, the future of our brands, future sites and much, much more. In addition to this, we also spent a lot of time trying to get a deeper understanding of the fantastic community that make Envato special. It’s safe to say we all got a huge amount of value from the conference and are more motivated than ever to continue to deliver value to our awesome community – who are ultimately at the heart of the decisions we make.

As a company with staff spread throughout the world, we also finally got to meet people in some cases who we’ve known for years but never actually seen face to face. Friendships were solidified, working relationships enhanced and the overall sense of Envato as a team augmented.

We’re excited to announce some of what we discussed at KL 2012 to the community in the near-future and are committed to continually improving the experience our community has with our network moving forward. Whether you are on the Learning side or the Earning side (or both!) – we’ve got a huge amount of exciting stuff coming up!

You can use the Marketplace ‘follow’ functionality to follow your favourite authors, whenever they have a new item out you can see them all in a grid box on the Marketplace home page when you’re logged in. (just underneath the search box on home page).

This is an important announcement for Envato Marketplace and Tuts+ Premium users. Time UpdatedThis Friday, April the 20th between 3:00pm and 4:00pm  AEST  (Check what this is in your time zone)  – PayPal will be bringing down all of its services for scheduled downtime. During this period users of our sites will be unable to make deposits via PayPal to their account or complete purchases via PayPal. Our alternate payment provider Skrill Moneybookers will be available throughout the downtime. You will also still be able to make purchases on the Marketplaces at this time if you have enough funds already deposited in your Marketplace account.
