Overall – nice update. But I really missing all this information about fees in my statement. It will be nice if you return full price (List Price) column.

This is an issue for a long time but I guess there’s nothing we can’t do right now. Also eventhough we can reply to the rating that doesn’t solve it because the buyer didn’t contacted you in the first place ( in which he can) means he doesn’t want your support! and not planning to get it fixed.
...or he didn’t know that we can’t reply to his rating review. And that is the problem.
Haha, seriously?? I’ve never thought of that! anyway I don’t think replying is the best solution for that, I hope they will find a better option ;)

What’s so funny? A buyer who bought only one item can’t know how envato websites work. He saw rating system near the download button, rated + left the comment, and after that waiting for reply.

Nice idea, DOG… but it would be wide open to abuse.

All abuse can be controlled very simply. For example, give the power of “like” to people with paw level 2 or buyer badge level 2. Next, users may “like” only 3 items a week, elite authors (and “elite” buyers) may “like”, for example, 10 items a week. And, of course, you can’t “like” your own item.

It can be done in different ways… But this is just theory. I have a strong filling that we will play “The Popular Page Lottery” for a very long time (without normal search, of course).

It’s just not worth a talented / experienced motion graphic designer’s time to develop a highend and complex template any more. The risks are too high. Why give up several thousand dollars of freelance work to develop a template that might only sell a handful of times?

+ add time that you spend to create documentation, customization tools and etc. True, it’s not worth it.

What’s required is a showcase that expands massively on Featured Item, and shows everything that had a bit more effort put into it, regardless of whether it’s selling or not. This is the kind of incentive that authors need now to go that extra mile and create something stunning.

Featured Items – is the same lottery as Popular Items. You never know you will be their or not. I think we need something like “Likes” ( sorry for the tautology), where everyone can “like” the product. And on this basis create special page, filtering in the search and so on.

Authors just react on consumer trends. Today it’s not a secret that you will earn more if produce several simple (almost low quality, but a little bit higher) items than one big hi-end product.

You may look at “Most Wanted Winners” sales if you don’t believe me. Buyers don’t need such good products, and, of course, authors (and may be reviewers, too) react on it.

Envato runs the marketplace, let them do what they do best.
OH, MY GOD! You are so funny! :D Did you see the latest updates?
I don’t spit in the plate I eat. Not funny at all :(
But you create items, your plate is your files, not Envato. And Envato eat from your plate.
And what I see now is that Envato spit in our plates.

I’ve just had a client who asked me for custom work and when i’ve said that i do not offer it, he said that my support is bad and that other are going to the ends of the world to do free work for him..

If support would become mandatory, imagine buyers like him. It gives them total control and leaves us with absolutely no freedom. We’ll became slaves of Envato and our customers.

:(
One thing is when you say you don’t offer that kind of support, other thing is envato policy saying that.

Do you really think so? Envato can’t handle their support within 7 days. They don’t want to delete unfair one star rating. And how, the hell, will they control all buyers’ messages about “not good support”?

I tell you how: They just will say that this is not their business. As far as they always do when you ask for delete of unfair one star rating.
