ha-ha no buddy I decided to just give away that plugin minus the script in question and tell user to head over to here, buy the file, drop it into my plugin, and off they go

In that case congratulations on your new file :). Also, I think you should upload that wrapper you’re giving away and just sell it as an “extension” of the other file. I really don’t see anything wrong with that and if anything it will get you some additional exposure for your portfolio which is always good. Regardless, looking forward to seeing more things from you :)

Just curious, is this the one based on an extended license of another CC product?

Windows XP and Vista are now both automatically upgrading. So there’s only two explanations for people still using IE6 /7. One, the user has Windows Update turned off for some reason. Two, pirated Windows.

My guess is trying to replicate the user experience used in that on a touch-screen would be a bad idea.

small edit to the Object loop (wasn’t actually reading the property’s value before)

^ Do lower prices really equal higher sales on ThemeForest? Something tells me that the benefit of a lower price would be offset by astute buyers knowing that lower-prices equal lower quality.

All these changes and clarifications are a valid step forward but I have to be honest – things are moving forward too slow and the whole licensing ordeal is still quite a mess. Hope to see more improvements soon.

I’d love to see this poll on Envato Notes:

As an author, I haven’t yet opted into the extended license program because:

a) I was already in!
b) I opted-in with the latest update
c) I’m waiting for pricing to get better
d) I’m waiting to be able to opt-in on a per-file basis
e) I still have concerns about cross-marketplace usage
f) What’s the extended license program?

Disregard the title of that link. The test originally started as something else and then evolved.

Probably need to do more tests but from that sample it looks like Arrays are faster for instances when you need to store both a key and a value. Certainly Objects are prettier/better organized, so deciding to use the Array approach probably depends on what you’re doing.

In the Array example, an additional 10k Arrays are created for each loop compared to the Object example. So essentially, 2[] < 1{}

Maybe i’m getting a wrong perspective, but, for example, allowing someone to buy an extended license on AudioJungle (around 40$) and be able to upload the same item on AJ with just a few retouches makes absolutely nonsense. But it makes if we consider a html template on TF to implement in on one framework. That’s what i’m talking about.

It seems there’s still going to be a lot of scenario-specific questions. Maybe we could just make a “you can’t use an extended license purchase in a product that you sell on the same marketplace” rule.

As far as the “8th grade reading level” comment, It’s not really about the majority of people not being able to understand what the new “limited repurposing” means. Because that’s true, as described in those articles the meaning is obvious. But people will look for loopholes in the licensing verbiage. And if they can’t find specific verbiage telling them what they can’t do, they may decide to ignore the obvious and implied interpretation of the rule(s). So the more examples of what is and isn’t acceptable the better IMO .
