Noone force you to break your habit. :) The beaity of making music is in creating different ways to acheave the same goal. Some one prefer one way, and some – other. So if it work for you – let it be so. I also have powerful Octa Core PC, but prefer separate stages.

I got a strong Mac pro so no CPU issues here. i mix with mastering chain on the master bus but on disable mode. when i Finish the mix and happy with the result only then i “turn on” the mastering chain and start the mastering process but on the same session without bouncing the mic to another session. this process is only for library music etc. of course that when i mix a song for an artist to the radio i send the mix to a professional mastering engineer.

and thats great, im not forcing you to change your habit, I didn’t ask the question because i want you to change my habits, i love my habits :)

and if its sounds good its sounds good, no matter what process, and thats the real answer :)

i ask the question because its interesting to know the different ways and methods musicians use to achieve their musical goals.
